It still seems to work this way. I don't really see what everyone dislikes about the SoC system? Whenever you run into a boss you just spam click SoC and you'll eventually get a skill you didn't have. Sure it means a bit more PvE time than otherwise but it's not like it's a lot of time. I think some people are expecting way to much in the amount of PvE they can skip. I fully realize a lot of people want to skip all PvE period but a lot more people would be annoyed if that were possible because then PvE would have no purpose. I don't really like PvE much but I understand that if I can fully skip PvE then that trivalizes it for someone else who does enjoy it.

BlackAce....I just told Rex the same thing I'm going to tell you now, I was referring to the System you were just talking about. I AM against the retail version system. I meant to elite skill system where if a skill is overpowered, the [elite] tag gets put on them. It's imbalanced yes, but it isn't game-breaking OMFGIQUIT, because at least you can still play without grinding like mad, it affects barely anything in time vs skill; whereas, with the retail system, it affects even PVEers, and casual gamers of sorts.

In short, you misread what I posted.

Actually, to be really brief, you basically just said what I wanted to say, except you accused me of something else :P my POV of intolerable is going against the core aims of the game, which one of which is grind. The Retail Elite system goes against that. The Elite system I was referring to was the one in the past, without grinding.

The elite system does break the "skill>time" mold, but I'm just too busy to sit down and make a complete post about all of this.

got healing hands from the gargoyle boss in d'lessio seaboard, we saved vizier and before we moved on we ran around and down in the water was the boss, we attacked a couple times and backed off, then captured the crap out of this great elite, short end: me = teh face pwnerzor

He doesn't always spawn also, I had to go through that mission like 5 times.

That's northwest of ascalon city by the way.

I believe I found the boss in question. Traveling from Ascalon to Piken square there is a bridge in The Breach zone and there is indeed a boss char mob with a sword. After letting him beat on me for quite a while though I could not get him to use 100 Blades. I spammed signet on him and accidentally captured shield stance much to my annoyance after a long while but that's it.

I was solo so perhaps you have to have someone in your party which would cause him to try and use the cleaving effect of 100 Blades?
