Thumbs up 7h: Soul Twister vs Imbagon?

Hi everyone

I'm planning on challenging myself with the various elite areas Guild Wars have to offer, but since I've played most characters already I'm torn between the last two I need to master - the ritualist and the paragon.

Which build do you find to be better/more beneficial when going 7h in the elite areas - ST or Imbagon?

I know I could go Imbagon and let a hero run ST, but that seems like serious overkill to me - am I wrong?

Thanks a lot in advance, hope someone will take some time to share their experience.

If you're going to play a Rit I really wouldn't recommend running ST yourself. It's mind numbingly dull. It would be better to run something else yourself and delegate ST to a hero. An interesting idea might be build around Assassin's Promise rather than use ST itself but I doubt that'd end up working as well.

Anyway, to actually answer your question, I'd say context comes into it a little. Which areas and which difficulty? Areas with tons of anti-weapon stuff will favour the ST, for example. Context aside, I'd probably favour a permanent SY over the ST by nature of the SY bar putting out damage - something you certainly shouldn't neglect. Haven't really done any meaningful tests on the matter though.

Area wise I think DoA HM would be the apex.

Also, would you say having a hero running ST would be a waste if being Imbagon myself?

Normally yes ,but for doa HM no. There used to be doa frostway for humans which used both ST, imba and 2 monks and a panic on top of that.

In general an imba provide better protection but require pve skills, the ST doesnt. In doa you gonna get hexed/blinded a lot as a human lead imba so you definitely want to bring both

Ritualist is something heroes can execute decently well.
Paragons heroes however dont as they lack the most vital PvE skills required to make them worth a slot in your team.

A player para with hero ST would sound the most viable.

But as playing a para would basicly mean your only a one build wonder, and thus not good for other means.
Its a fun factor that maybe wont last all that long as you expect it to.

A player rit preforms cause of human control, better then their hero counterpart.
As you have multiple roles to play, having two ST's dont sound bad either as u will maintain a perfect uptime of spirits (spirits cancel eachother out, but ST is just OP lets admit.)

This being said its what you like to play and setups used of
ouyour liking.
