I agree. My gwen is set with
[skill]Hex Eater Vortex[/skill][skill]Shatter Hex[/skill][skill]Shatter Enchantment[/skill][skill]Drain Enchantment[/skill][skill]Revealed Hex[/skill][skill]Power Spike[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
My Norgue is set with
[skill]Power Spike[/skill][skill]Cry of Frustration[/skill][skill]Shatter Hex[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]leech signet[/skill][skill]Signet of Disruption[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill] + Signet of Distraction
I just cleared Frostmaw's Burrows for my first time with them plus an MM hero, it was even more ez-mode than the three necro build.

While it is a nice idea (gimmick?), the thing about the all signet build is that you end up with an unused energy bar. Mantra lasts forever, unless your Stance gets stripped.
I reckon the builds can be improved if you throw in a high energy (15e?), low recharge time spell (<5s) that you want to spam upon recharge. Better yet, it also allows you to run an upkeep enchantment.
Conjure Nightmare comes straight to mind, but may not mesh with Keystone, or look at Protective Bond at 0 Protect.

Any reason he doesn't have an elite? It seems that HEV would be better than Shatter Hex.

Not owning GWEN - I am really curious about this:
Is GWEN really so mesmer-friendly that it's worth dropping a Paragon/Warrior hero for a Mesmer one?
Or does the Mesmer-friendly atmosphere come from all the nice PvE-only skills?

Power Block seems to solve the problem of them not priortising their interrupts.

I think people are just trying to make it sound like mesmers suck less in PvE than they really do.

I run this for some general anti-melee, damage, and interrupting support. For pure interrupting I still prefer N/Me though, [skill=text]Psychic Distraction[/skill] and Soul Reaping works more effectively in PvE than anything a Mesmer can do for interrupting purposes.

Thanks. I've been looking for a good Me Hero build. I think this may be it for starting GWEN HM.
Can you let me know what your attribute points are? Thanks!

Best way you can get to knowing how to use a mesmer character is to make a pvp on and ab with it a few times.. You will find this fun with illusion on how easy it is to kill a single enemy.. and when you make a capper mesmer (mesmer/ele) its fast and (fast casting) is very helpful when using nuker spells btw.

It might be horrible but I load up my Gwen with multiple interrupts and utility from the inspiration line and then have her go /e for air ele skills. I use blinding surge, shell shock, and air attunement. I prefer this over ineptitude though you do lose out on clumsiness. Granted, I actually use a warrior hero too and load them up with a few interrupts from the warrior line (they have quite a few to choose from too.) Basically, if they suck at choosing which skills to interrupt - you are better off interrupting everything. The hardest thing for you is to choose the correct high priority targets first and work from there.

I'm running Gwen as a real "caster nightmare" but she tends to be "melee-fodder" in HM. Anyway that's pretty fun. I suppose i could make Norgu the opposite - punish melee from using adrenaline skills but maybe it's a waste for PvE but it sure sounds nasty.
Gwen:
[skill]Power Spike[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Backfire[/skill][skill]Power Block[/skill][skill]Drain Enchantment[/skill][skill]Hex Eater Signet[/skill][skill]Hex Breaker[/skill]
I know the problem lies in the build, i should use [wiki]Distortion[/wiki] on her maybe she'll stay alive then, better that is.
Norgu:
[skill]Visions of Regret[/skill][skill]Clumsiness[/skill][skill]Signet of Clumsiness[/skill][wiki]Wandering Eye[/wiki][skill]Cry of Frustration[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Hex Eater Signet[/skill] or [skill]Drain Enchantment[/skill]
Power Spike on norgu can also be [skill]Glyph Of Lesser Energy[/skill] - as this builds eats energy for breakfast. It's a little spread too out on all 3 schools.. 14 Illusion 7 Dom 8 Insp & 8 Fast Cast. were the stats but damn it was fun to watch.
I vanquished some areas with Mesmer-way just for the heck of it, Norn areas (eat it Jotuns). I noticed that PvE melee monsters did not use that many melee skills though, ehem.. [wiki]Ineptitude[/wiki] is a good skill but the blindess is removed so quickly by monks in HM (specially summit monks) and the damage is negated in 0.5s ... bleh.

I give my hero Mesmers (Gwen) a build like this:
[skill]Cry of Frustration[/skill][skill]Power Spike[/skill][skill]Power Block[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Inspired Enchantment[/skill][skill]Empathy[/skill][skill]Leech Signet[/skill][skill]Resurrection Chant[/skill]
The AI are so good at interrupts, you might as well abuse it. The AI seems to use Shatter Hex and HEV to deal damage rather than to remove hexes so it's worth using that in your favour, too.
