Monk hero's are they worth it?
So you play alone with 4 Henchman, & 3 Hero's.
Do you use 2 hero slot's for a Healer & Protection monk, or do you take the hench monks and take something else?
Personally I used to play with allways a Dunkuro Woh & Tahlkora Prot. Then I discovered I was way better off taking just hench monks & Paragon and more damage dealers. If I play alone I never would occupy them with monks anymore .Playing with another person, yeah then 2 monk hero's rock.

If I play with a friend/guildie I always take monk heroes, but when I'm alone I usually do sab's or dual para with orders. Yeah I'm lazy

I use 1 Hybrid Monk Hero and 1 Hench Healer Monk. Other 2 heroes are usually a Fire Ele and a MM.

Most of the time I don't bring a monk hero. The hench monks are good enough even for most hardmode. Exception is when I'll be facing a lot of undead (smiting ftw) or there's something particular about an area (e.g. near-constant burning).

It depends on where I am. If an mm works well I take 1 monk and 2 necros. If an mm doesn't work well for an area it varies greatly as to what I take.

My hero monks, are no joke around 1.83x as effiecient as a good player.
Execelent monks are hard to find.
It's just me, too. Given a few other people my builds and they die.
Must be the way I move.

Depends on what I'm up against. Its either: 1 hero (protection) and 1 monk henchman (healing), 2 hero monks, or two henchmen monks. They're not as good as the few real people who can monk. When you're guildless you just don't want to team with pugs only to fail shortly afterwards.

I always bring a prot monking Tahl as my first hero. Unless of course, it's the last mission of any game [minus Proph] or the party limit is 4.

The hench monks are good enough to get you through, but the hench offense (with a couple of exceptions like eotn Zho) are as useful as a 10kg sack of rice. Its always 3 offense heroes and 2 hench monks for me.

I use my Hero slots for MM and Ele. I use the 3rd slot for whatever may be most helpful in the situation (Jora & Gwen get used a lot). I usually take Heal & Prot monks, Eve, and Herta (when I can get them)

i always have at least 1 monk hero, usually its tahlkora with healers boon, and a protection hench.
for the other 2 hero's i usually have an ele fire or water (depending of where i am and what i want) OR a splinter barrage hero with 3 interrupts (many times they do more damage then the eles, no super AI and skill chaining needed so the AI works just fine, expertise is easier to E management for the AI, and the rangers can take a few more hits when things go bad) and an MM (if not an MM its usually ele AND a splinter barrage)

well, i look at it very simply;
Hench and heroes have the same response-time, and since the update of the hench builds, i find that their builds are very capable of dealing with monking (like a mediocre pug with not the best connection).
So i always use 3 damage heroes (perhaps 1 or 2 hybrids in v difficult areas).
tbh, i cant figure out why others will do different, since monking is mostly about reaction time, and h/h have the same

Well..I am a monk (only character with more than 20 hours lol) so that's one slot taken care of.
I usually take Livia as an MM as my first hero and then 2 fire eles + Cynn as my general purpose nukers.
Otherwise it's usually a Jora + Gwen + Tahlk setup.

I use one for the most part but if I had to I would use the hench Monk for more damage if needed.

I tend to use WoH/Prot Hero + Livia on N/Rt restoration duty.
I do think that having a hero I can control is more of a benefit than hench who are oftentimes dumber than a bag of hammers.

I just need my monks to keep the team alive; henchmen monks do the job just fine. If I need something more, then I may go w/ a hero monk, but usually I save my hero slots for things I can't get otherwise; a MM necro, a curse necro, BHA ranger, ritualist healer/spirit spammer, etc.
In the case where I *do* need a specific type of monk, (smiter like someone else mentioned), or a hybrid monk, then I'll bring one.
