If you want weakness then I'd prefer speccing into Curses for Enfeebling Blood. Even a lv 4 cast will be maintainable. It's basically free as well

True XD. I made the thread with the intention of questioning how well heroes use SF but then morphed it into "What do Elementalist Heroes use best".

Speaking of, isn't Glyph a little bit overkill in that build, Anti? Shock Arrow with the recent buff seems like a good candidate due to providing decent energy management while still offering some damage.

Personally, I would prefer using /Rt just to get Death Pact and to be able to bring a few other skills if needed (such as Splinter Weapon or Ancestor's Rage, as he said).

Harder NM = MB/RI Hybrid

I've considered the same thing. I don't trust Heroes with Lightning Hammer on the bar and Heroes aren't renowned for their e-mgt. GoLE gives a bit of a buffer in case an enchant gets stripped or dropped and seems to keep their energy under control better than Shock Arrow. It should perform well without GoLE or SA if enchant stripping isn't a problem. I never know when it will be, so i take GoLE.

The SW / AR version has less energy management issues and Shock Arrow can slot comfortably in there. Or you can leave GoLE / SA out altogether and keep DPS, but the energy management can fail when Heroes get the dumbz and forget to recast an attunement / get interrupted / get stripped. The bar seems more resilient under pressure with GoLE.

A Mesmer secondary's another option for Epidemic.

Just tried that and it's bloody good idea, as long as i'm getting Splinter / Rage from someone else. Enfeebling Blood and Weaken Armor have a greater AoE and can easily replace Shell Shock and Enervating Charge.

Normally i'd dump the Ele altogether and take a Curses Nec. It's only in low corpse areas I'll take the Ele, or whack Reaper's Mark in for SS

Keeping the skill bar of an SF hero clean and simple - definitely agreed.

In addition I give them [skill=text]Breath of Fire[/skill] - based on the observed usage they seem to absolutely and totally love that spell. In addition it is cheap, it has decent damage, it makes the enemies run around mindlessy and at the end it just looks so damn impressive.

Regarding energy management: what about [skill=text]Aria of Zeal[/skill] ? Assuming you have 3 SF heroes it will cost 10 but gain 12 (3x4, at Motivation 8), plus the rest of the party would benefit, too.

Regarding sturdyness: to make my SF ele heroes a bit more robust while under heavy fire (HM...) I gave them [skill=text]Mystic Regeneration[/skill] and [skill=text]Conviction[/skill] (at Earth Prayers 8). It kinda works, but I'd appreciate them using those two spells before 3/4 of their health bar being ripped apart... anybody got some other suggestions on decent self defense for caster heroes?

i used to run dual SF when NF first came out, and then i stopped using it after it's massive nerf, now i've been using it again lately when running with a monk friend, he monks, I SS, then minion bomber and n/rt healer leaves 4 spaces, we've been taking 4 SF eles for fun and it does work. no questions!
