How's this build look for heroe's?
Recently I saw an interesting build posted in some thread about clearing the fissure, and I was wondering if anyone has used this or tested it out.
[build name="Artificer Mesmer" box prof=Mesmer/Monk desc= Smitingprayers=10 Inspirationmagic=10+1+1 Dominationmagic=5+1 Fastcasting=10+1 ][Signet Of Judgment][Bane Signet][Castigation Signet][Hex Eater Signet][Signet Of Distraction][Mantra Of Inscriptions][Succor][Resurrection Signet][/build]
The guy who posted this was distilledwill, just so everyone know's I'm not trying to steal his build, if he made it.
Anyone I'd been toying with mainly an interuption build using a lot of signets, so this build got my attention, although I was puzzled about the elite and thought maybe [skill]Keystone Signet[/skill] would be better. Although putting so many points into smiting warrants an elite from that tree I suppose.

Replacing SoJ would result in a very low damage build: And personally Id replace Succor with Holy Wrath

Ahh ok so does it...do well?
I'm more used to interupt bars on my mesmer heroes, so this one intrigued me...
Although I'd still like to put the other int signet on there somehow.
And I'd prolly change succor out for strengh of honor.

I actually originally got the idea for using this on a hero from Dark Spirit - see the post in the hero forum called "Mesmer Artificer Hero..". The main advantage of the build is the good energy management and the ability to equip the hero with full artificer insignia (+3 armour for each equipped signet) and the ability to use a stance shield (-2 damage, +8 armour and +45 health). This combination makes this hero very very hardy (somewhere in the region of 89 armour, thats more than a warrior)
The main reason I posted it for FoW was the ability to remove hexes and dish out holy damage, whilst still maintaining great survivability. With that in mind, if you removed the smiting signets you might as well invest wholly in Inspiration and Domination, take [Leech Signet], [Signet Of Disenchantment] and maybe [Ether Signet]. It would change the dynamic of the build from a damage utility to a full support role with interupts and hex/enchant removal. Might be a nice idea, but I found the damage which is pumped out by the smiting signets is pretty solid (not devastating but worth the investment).
The only reason I hadnt used holy wrath was that I can never be bothered with microing the hero to precast the mantra and so they would lose all of their energy early in the battle and be unable to maintain it. But thats really just my laziness and if you want to do that, Im sure it would be pretty good.
The build itself ISNT all that new, ive seen it used in GvG and other forms of PvP for a while, I had just never encountered it in PvE and never on a hero.
Ive been thinking about swapping out the res sig for either [Leech Signet] or [Purge Signet], as Id love to have a backup hex removal or interupt.
Anyway, take a look at the post in the hero forum for more info. Im sure Dark Spirit will post on here soon enough .
Cheers,
Will

I feel like I have just been summoned, so I should fulfill your prophecy.
My mesmer hero build is here:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...10&postcount=3
I dont really like [Leech Signet] on a hero since she only uses it rarely to interrupt spells rather than skills. I also dont think [Ether Signet] is really necessary, since it is a 0-energy build. The only skill that needs energy there is [mantra of Inscriptions] and that lasts for 82s per cast which is more than enough time for most battles. If you really need to recast it, a human mesmer can weapon swap to a +energy set temporarily to recast. A hero can take that risk and wait for energy regen or [castigation signet] if she doesn't have 10e when she needs to recast the mantra, but this situation would be rare. This also means that you should not use this build with [holy wrath] if you are using it on a hero unless you are risking the need to recast mantra within that 82s in battle, since heroes cant weapon swap.
To optimize it, you can cast the mantra manually once just before a battle. The hero would only cast the mantra when she needs to use a signet but that signet is still recharging, which should work during a battle.

As do I, Succor is more of a sliiiightly better mending
However, seeing as the person who originally requested the build for FoW was not using any Melee characters, I switched it for Succor.
I usually run it with SoH when I use it.
