Henchie Help please :)
ok, i rolled a warrior/E, for the first time and every time i try pull groups its virtually impossible b/c of the henchies, the Mo ends up with his skull as a pile of mush every time. I never remember this happening so badly either of the other times I have played(through the campaigns). I read all the "how tanking works, how to tank etc" but its almost impossible to do it b/c the henchies are quite possibly the prime example of stuipid, and the monk ends up dead
as a Mo doing the prof campaign for the first time I never remember getting pummeled like this >.< (and i didn't even get the flag things when the game was first released, i had to pull everything myslef)
if i tell them to stay back (flag) they are either A: close enough so when i pull with a longbow, they receive the command to attack, thus bridging to the poor Mo, oor they are to far back and before i can get to them, or they can get to me i end up... dead
also i know if i just plain get in the way mobs will start hitting me, but thats really hard to do to 5 things, in open terrain, i can stop 1 the other 4 B line for the Mo
is there something I'm missing that will keep my poor monk alive?

Are you attempting to tank with your Warrior in a H/H party? Tanking is not a recommended strategy for a Hero/Hench group.
To give us a better idea of how to help, please post your team build. Don't be embarassed, you'll get solid feedback on how to improve it.
Do you have Nightfall / EotN for Heroes?

I only own Prof (core) and Nightfall, I'm playing in the core campaign before kryta (the frost gate is what I'm at atm) all hencies as I can't use hero's yet
um, also I've been practicing a lot, and with the exception of caster heavy pulls, its working a **** ton better than it was, it also helps when you hotkey the flag/ cancel flag
I guess its more of a practice thing, I still don't remember mobs going for me so fanatically when I played with my Mo (pre-expansions) and I had to do the pulling :P
btw: when I do pick up heroes what do you recommend? (whats your preference)

Well do the mission to get olias at least, that will net you one hero, and that will mean you can flag all of your hero's at once, allowing you to pull.

Agreed, Olias as MM is the absolute best help I've found hero-wise for going through Prophesies. I also take a hero Monk and set them up with a heal/prot build. I advise against taking Koss - Stefan is more than efficient for the warrior slot and with a MM hero, you'll find you need warriors less and less. I believe by the time you're able to get Olias you can also get a ranger and an ele hero, that's a hard choice there, I would take the Ele but - think about it before you choose - you can get only one of the two.

All campaigns are easier and more fun with Heroes on board. You can get 4 Heroes within 15 minutes of heading to Kamadan from Lion's Arch - 2 Monks, a Warrior and either an Ele or a Ranger. Take the Ele now, you can get the Ranger at the end of Nightfall. You can also pick up a quest in Kamadan that'll unlock a Necromancer in the Prophecies campaign, but you'll need to spend an hour or so doing the campaign in Kamadan to do it.
Of these i'd recommend taking the Ele (spec it as a Searing Flamer), the Necro (spec it as a Minion Bomber) and a Healer (Word of Healing Hybrid).
Here's what i'd take -
[build=Acolyte Sousuke;OgVDMoysO0txaPIDQLwFIDBA]
[build=Tahlkora or Dunkoro;OwYT003C1RjsRaJbakxdNgoTAA]
[build=Olias;OANEQTxW+5sUrCoB8QnoeEQqqA]
The attributes are raw and don't show the +X effect of runes. Generally we use Minor runes these days in Hard Mode. Superior runes for Fire Magic and Death Magic is recommended in this setup, minors for everything else.
I normally wouldn't recommend these exact bars, but your skill choices are limited without Factions and Eye of the North.
Searing Flames is a very strong skill, this bar encourages the Hero to spam it as much as possible. It needs a lot of energy management so keep it simple.
The Necro's a Minion Bomber, many of us old-timers run this bar or variants of it. The primary difference is i've added [[blood ritual] into the build to help with your party's energy management. You may not need it, [[dark bond] is an option for the slot.
The Word of Healing Monk is missing a skill or two that would normally be on the bar. You don't have access to them so i've left them out. I've added a hard resurrect in given you tend to die more as a new player. Try [[orison of healing] or [[reversal of fortune] if you don't need the rez.
You'll need to capture the elite skills or unlock what you need in basic PvP. Do the latter, as soon as a skill is unlocked in PvP it's available to your Heroes. You can do the Zaishen PvP quests if you're not comfortable doing PvP against real players. If you've got some spare real-life cash, buy the PvP unlock packs for Prophecies and Nightfall to access all the skills you need straight away.
Always take the Monk henchmen, early on it's only one, later on you'll get two. Then just take whatever damage-dealing henchmen you like. Warriors are a bit sucky, go with Rangers and Elementalists instead.
This'll get you through the rest of Prophecies 'relatively' easily. There's nothing worse than being a reasonably new player and finding it so hard that you give up on the game, so grab the Heroes as soon as you can.
Finally, take a long-bow in one of your weapon slots for pulling agro. This alone will help a great deal.

Good to know. Scrap 'new' player, replace with 'returning'
I take it you're referring to the original 55 with [[protective bond]...damn that was an AGE ago.
