Monks in HM - How to use Sabway?
Hey all,
This is my first thread and before I begin, I just want to say that I searched around a bit before posting to make sure that there wasn't already another thread on this.
So I just want to know...how exactly do monks solo vanquish areas and solo dungeon runs in HM?
I've been trying out the Sabway build with my ursan but have found that my results are limited. I had the hardest time reaching level 3 in Rragar's menagarie even with 2 powerstones. In the end, I had to pay someone to run it for me.
So my issue is this:
1. I'd REALLY like someone here to teach me some viable hero combos and/or some Sabway tweaks/alternatives I can use alongside my monk
As most of you know, the Sabway build is posted here
2. I'd like to begin avoiding using ursan except only for really difficult missions. Ursan's getting a bit boring to use.
I know that the Sabway build is meant to be tweaked around

with u being a monk it might be advisable to take out the n/rt healer and put in a dmg dealer or maybe a inturrupter (BHA ranger maybe?) and load up on melee henchmen, plus a monk henchmen of course

When I do sabway with my monk, it feels as if I don't have enough damage. For example, when I was doing blood washes blood, I couldn't kill the nightmaes fast enough to keep them from filling the bar of w/e on the alter. Ive seen monks take ursan, smiters, deadly arts, or w/e.

I run sabway on my monk, I switched the N/Rt healer out for a spear swipe para with focused anger and aggressive refrain. I love it.

you'll probably be able to vanquish plenty of areas with 600+smite hero.
however for areas that it wont work or if you insist on getting a full party than Sabway is probably not the best option for you as a Monk.
Racthoh's "my paragon buddies" will work better I think.

I drop the N/Rt healer and change it for a DA paragon on my monk, haven't really ran into any difficulties yet this way.

It seems like monks make poor substitutes for the SY....the thread about my para's buddies doesn't have anything good for monks. T__T
One idea floated around is a monk that spams D-Slash...which clearly cannot last with monks having 60 armor.

run signet mo/me instead of the standard me/mo. this should do decent
damage without using UB. this is if you insist on using sabway. gl

Could you post a link to that build? LOL. Thanks.
EDIT: I'm not particularly preferring sabway or any hero team build. I'm open to any other team builds that'll work well alongside a monk.

Try running a heal/protect hybrid (e.g. something like http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Mo/E_WoH_Hybrid ) with:
[build prof=N name="Jagged MM" box blo=3 death=12+1+3 sou=12+1][Jagged Bones][Animate Bone Horror][Animate Shambling Horror][Foul Feast][Infuse Condition][Dark Bond][Death Nova][Signet of Lost Souls][/build]
[build prof=E/Me name="SF Ele" box ins=8 fir=12+1+1 ene=10+1][Searing Flames][Glowing Gaze][Liquid Flame][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Aura of Restoration][Fire Attunement][Drain Enchantment][Resurrection Signet][/build]
[build prof=P name="Motigon" box spe=11+1 comma=1 mot=10+1 lea=10+1+1][Aggressive Refrain][Vicious Attack][Song of Restoration]["They're on Fire!"][Aria of Zeal][Anthem of Flame]["Go for the Eyes!"][Signet of Return][/build]

The MM is pretty much what sab recommended for hers, except I dont like Tormentors. Tormentors makes them more vulnerable to holy damage which they would face in dungeons like Rragar's Menagerie.
Insignias: Bloodstained on hands, Minion Master's or Survivors on the rest.
Weapons: 40% HCT, 20% longer enchanting Death staff.
The Ele uses Blessed/Surivors.
Weapons: 40% HCT, 20% longer enchanting or Fortitude Fire staff.
Paragon uses Centurion/Survivors.
Weapons:
Sundering Spear of Fortitude
Motivation Shield of Fortitude
Armor: 16 (req 9 Motivation)
Health +30
Inscription "I can see clearly now" Reduce blind duration 20%
You can use the +armor Insignia on the chest and legging and Survivors on the rest of the pieces.
