HM dervish support char (can generally replace monk hero)
so I have been playing around with Melonni....and have found that you can replace your monk hero with melonni and have less chance of dying!
This build has been tested on multiple vanquishes / HM dungeon: to name a few:- Arbor bay
- Lornar's Pass
- Ice Floe
- Drakkar Lake
- Rragar's Managerie
- Thommis' section of Slavers
- FoW - was bored so went it for a lol with this as my support char in 4man!
I am fairly sure that this is a good build after holding out in the above areas!
(THIS IS FOR HM) - not some lame-ass build that scraps NM ^^
getting straight to it....
Build:
[imbue health]
[conviction]
[mystic regeneration]
[faithful intervention]
[watchful intervention]
optional
optional
optional
Attributes:
Mysticism: 11+1+2
Earth Prayers: 11+1
optional: as applicable
Optional skills are depending on the situaiton; i.e heavy hexes or heavy conditions etc...
from what I've found so far.....
D/P
[cautery signet] or
[angelic bond] - even with 0 in Leadership it still outlasts its recharge time!
[remedy signet]
[signet of return] if you want a rez...but I use a fire ele so went with [glowing signet]
if you use SoR self-macro it much better as the dervish is serving as a monk-substitute you don't want it leeroying off into a rez....monk hench do that already ^^
Command or Motivation: 8 or 9 depending how you work your EP and M
D/Mo
[remove hex]
[divert hexes]
[purge conditions]
Protection Prayers: 8 or 9 depending how you work your EP and M
Equipment:- Totem Axe - http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Totem_Axe
- optional - for Protection Prayers:
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Drok...otection_Focus
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Deld...s_%28unique%29
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wroth%27s_Icon
or prot prayer off-hand with similar mods
- optional - for D/P
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Briahn%27s_Guidance
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Fenrir%27s_Bastion
or command / motivation shield with similar mosd - Briahn's Guidance is my prefered shield of choice!
[purge conditions] - this is because its unlinked so it doesn't require extra attribute point spending!
D/P and D/Mo are the ones I have found to be most effective but have been testing with D/W and D/Rt - will post if I find them to be good enough!
---------------------------
I am looking for some constructive feedback on it.....and I will come to your house and cut you if you instantly dismiss it as "oO that looks crap" - please either give sensible feedback / criticism or go and test it then if you are unhappy post with alternations etc....
I am looking for some feedback so I can improve it....

His only heals have 10-15 second recharge. Purge has 20 second recharge. Glowing Signet would only give 5 energy. Remedy Signet only targets self. Faithful and Mystic are both self heals only. Needs a lot a lot of work.

3 selfish defense skills is bad.
At least use Vital Boon with Signet of Pious Light.
As for the equipment, you should be utilising all the weaponslots you could use for max efficiency anyway. I suggest a Swift Staff of Enchanting with a "Don't Think Twice" inscription.
Oh, and it's only good if you're pissing around and don't want pure efficiency.

NEVER actually noticed [purge conditions] had a 20second recharge lol...maybe add a bit to healing prayers and use [dismiss condition] instead...take some out of protection prayers when running D/Mo?
as I said I wanted some constructive feedback and will improve the build from what you've said....
its just a bit of fun that I found while messing around and was kinda happy with it...
the skills that are optional are kinda messed up atm but thats what I've found to work nicely
It does the job of keeping itself alive and does work well at keeping the party alive as well...but will improve it as I do....(outside of playing my new warrior)
but it is nice piece of added support char - even if you decide to keep your monk then it can be nice as an added bit of support - cut the monk hench (petition to remove mhenlo ^^) add something else in?
nice picture lol'd at that
- wep swaps - I won't bother with for a hero as it just stands around on avoid combat while casting enchants to keep the party alive....going to test it in 4man areas soon...worked in 6man as the sole healer - tad odd but it did work well....can't really say anvil rock is a hard vanq but she kept the party up with occasional ["save yourselves!"] from me...and the whole party never wiped....died once from me AFK but don't count that lol.....
keep feedback coming please - thanks

That just looks like a wasted party slot to me.
You got 3 skills just to keep the derv alive..how..useless.
Then you add like 3 skills from another profession, how about you just add a hero of that profession? and give him an actual useful bar.
As for "I am fairly sure that this is a good build after holding out in the above areas!".
Seriously, it's pve. You can make A LOT work. Doesn't means that it's good tho.

The question to ask when you're trying to replace a monk is, "What can this build do that a monk can't?" Normally a derv healer would revolve around using Sig of Pious Light, somethin heroes arn't good at using. You'd have to give it mulitiple self-targeting enchantments and hope it doesn't cast the Sig when any of them are down.
I'm not sure what prof your "SY" is coming from, but if you're using a Para, you'll definitely wanna switch classes to test builds - Imbagons are powerful enough to carry bad teams to a win.

Go Go Mystic Healing. If you dont wna be a 'sheep' and dislike monks then run a Rit or Paragon with heals, just something that works =)
If you intend to replace a monk hero you will need to bring some skills to keep your allies alive, otherwise you may as well be a tank O.o

with a good team and smart playing, a sub par support char will suffice. so i think having a good team is what carried ur Derv hero thru, not the other way around. and i can see how that would make it appear that the derv hero was working well.
just my thoughts, no flames from me :P

I think paragon would be better. Better support skills for the team, better armor and great energy management in the 8 party size teams. I think your derv can survive without being healed by others but I do not see him being support for the rest of the team...

I agree with farmerfez. I would rather have a character with 8 useful skill slots than 3.
