Three Times SF
Hello all,
so i heared that when you're doing NM, it's really helpful to get three SF elli's. Because it's huuuge pressure and you can kill mobs really fast. Well i've tried it and it's true. But some NM area's still can be a pain sometimes. So i thought; lets do it like Sabway, it has both pressure and defensive.
So, i started making a base, SF, fire att. Glowing gaze, GoLe Searing Heat.
Then i made 1 hero N/RT, i put Vengeful weapon, death pact signet and Life in that bar. with 9 resto.
The other 1 i made Prot spirit, aegis and ress sig, 8 protection.
The last 1 i made E/N, with weaken armor, enfeebling blood and ress sig.
So it actually worked pretty well, but i noticed that my heroes ran out of energy really quick. So, can you please tell me what i'm doing wrong? What could be better?
Thanks,
DAe

More than likely with all the Searing Flames going around you're killing enemies before you can even get Glowing Gaze off, not to mention the reason why Sabway/Discordway works so well is Soul Reaping.
Personally I never go anywhere without a hero with [[Blood Ritual]. You might want to look into that.

Maybe you should try running a team of 3 necros or rits with SF for great lulz.
Tri-Necro builds work because they kill stuff fast and get energy back from Soul Reaping. The only thing that might come close to that for an Ele is Ether Renewal, but that kills the idea of wanting to use SF.

I've taken SF heroes through NM before, and I never had a problem with energy. My bigger problem was dying, actually ><.
If I had to guess, I'd say you're having energy problems because you're not waiting to regen in between fights. 70 energy takes almost a minute to go back up.
If you still have problems with energy, you could try inspiration interrupts, but probably the better solution is using a battery build. I'm thinking a "The Power is Yours!" hero with "They're on Fire!" probably should be enough.
Also remember that you should be taking advantage of your own bar flexibility. EBSoH is incredible on a SF team if you have access to it. Also, you need snares. Deep Freeze + Auspicious Incantation.

with 3 SFs your heros dont have much time use glowing gaze, so the only energy gain is from attunment and GoLE, the reason tri-necros work so well is because they automatically get energy back no matter how fast you kill enemies. try running SF on necros, might be a problem with initially starting out with the spike but once they get started and once enemies die they should be fine.

Are you using Mark of Rodgort together with Searing Flames? If not, I'd suggest adding Mark of Rodgort to at least one of the SF's skill bar.
Haven't done it a lot yet, but one SF ele and two discordway necros seemed like a good combination when I tried it the other day. The ele casts mark as an aoe hex and then sf burning as an aoe condition, which leaves the necros free to spike away with discord.

Sound fun for NM in most campaigns aside from NF maybe thanks to destroers but d-way or sab's would work out better.

No, the reason why i did not was because my heroes don't have fire weps atm, but i'm getting them right now! After this i'll give them MoR yes.

I'm going to try that after i've tried out the battery build, and the reason why i don't use sabway is because 3x SF goes faster in NM.

There that should do for NM, but dont think it will hold any weight in HM.
N/E 12+1+1 Soul reaping, 12 fire magic
[searing flames][signet of lost souls][fire attunement][glyph of immolation][glowing gaze][incendiary bonds][liquid flame][rodgorts invocation]
N/E 9+1+1 soul reaping, 12 fire magic, 10 + 1 death magic
[searing flames][animate bone minions][death nova][foul feast][etc]
N/Rt 12+1+1 soul reaping, 12 restoration
[the usual n/rt healer stuff]

Wait, what, Are you using goi and rodgorts with searing flames? One ugly skill choice there. Run sf on primary eles dude, it will be more powerful and you will be able to bring some utilities.

Yes I know, im definitly not supporting that build as proficient by any means, i was just offering an example of soul reaping being used to power [[searing flames]. I wouldnt use this build, but if he is doing NM, it may be interesting to see what it does.

@ Igor, i somewhat had that build already, just not liquid flame, i had searing heat there. And i don't had kaolai, but i had other 10 energy spells there. And i ran out of energy pretty fast actually. I'm still trying that fuel build.

:O 12 10 9. Hax. But yes, NM is pretty easy and generally a good tactic is to just kill before you get killed. If your eles are having energy issues you could make bomber necro hybrids like the one above. One pure Necro SF. One Bomber SF Necro. The third you'd have to think about, perhaps a pure fire ele with 1 or 2 resto skills, and put [Blood Ritual] on the pure SF nec.

You don't need fire weapons, when cast Glowing Gaze on a foe hexed with Mark of Rodgort the fire damage from Glowing Gaze causes burning which in turn satisfies the 'if that foe is on Fire' condition and it returns energy. That burning then also meets the precondition for the AoE damage from Searing Flames.

I normally use Discord or Sabway but have found that two SF Ele's and a Barrage Ranger with a fire damage bow can be quite effective as well. Also I found it is a nice plus to have the Asura Ruby Djinn on your main if you run a group like this.
