Build Advice - 2 players, 6 heroes
Hi all,
I currently play GW with my housemate and we're looking for help in refining our builds for HM content.
I am a W/Mo with this build:
[build=Dragon Slash Warrior;OQASEZKTGW2kXF8VnimaLOki]
I have LoD in there for the dungeons but normally a +5 health regen for those hairy moments.
I run the following heroes:
[build=Master of Whispers;OAhjYoHcIO5h9QdoMs7yYV1kLA] with 20/20 Curses Staff
[build=Olias;OANDUslfSLVVBoBYCKg1DBEVVA] with 20/20 Death Staff
[build=Livia;OAhiYwh8gyyYSzJHFbcWVTuA] with 20/20 Restoration Staff
I've given them 20/20 staffs while I grind for 40/40 wand/focus sets. (Have been trying for 3 days now to get wand/focus items but having no luck with drops!!). Have outfitted them with appropriate runes/insignias (though still refining them). I can do NM dungeons easily with a healer henchy plus 3 other situational henchies. I swap the MM's skills around depending on if the dungeon has lots of corpses to exploit or not.
I've borrowed these builds from Sabway, but does anything need refining? I'm sure my W/Mo spec could be refined or completely overhauled.
My housemate is a Ranger and we're wondering what would be 3 good heroes to compliment my 3. He doesn't have Nightfall or Factions so can't bust out another 3 necros. We're building an interrupting Gwen and a Healing Ogden at the moment. Is this a viable option (depends on the dungeon and mobs of course), and also what would you recommend as a 3rd hero for him? I will edit this post when I get home from work to show you his Barrage or BHA Ranger spec as well as Gwen/Ogden.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Your friend can acquire the services of Livia.
You should check out discordway. For many places you will find it faster than sabway in HM. The exception would be places without corpses and where there's heavy condition/hex removal.
For your DS build, you might make it more efficient by not having so many adrenal skills. The [enraging charge]+[flail] combo is great, but if I were you, I would limit my adrenal attacks to just [dragon slash] and try to spam it. One thing that would compliment both you and your friend is an orders hero.

Well, [[Reaper's Mark] is a pretty terrible skill because as a Necro, your heroes really shouldn't be having any energy problems. It might be better to put in an elite weapon spell there, maybe [[Weapon of Remedy] since I don't see [[Foul Feast] or [[Xinrae's Weapon].

Hi Theodenking. I find that [enraging charge] is a good opener as it gives me some adrenaline straight up and gets me into the action faster. Though when I think about it, I should be pulling mobs to me with a longbow anyway ... you're probably right. What other skills do you think I should place [enraging charge] and [flail] with? Not necessarily warrior ones ...
My ranger mate has started working on a Livia build. I'll help him refine it and see how she goes. Which spec from discordway do you think she should go?
Thanks Bobulation, I'll chuck [weapon of remedy] in there instead and see how it goes.

Also why use enfeeble rather than the AoE version of it (forgot name sorry think its enffebling blood). Your bar is good but if you became W/P for enduring harmony then you could keep FGJ up longer for more dlsash spam. Also why no SY! ??
Just my 2 cents

Totally overlooked the fact that [Enfeebling Blood] (pve version) would be better! Just need to be mindful of the 10% sacrifice and hope it doesn't get spammed. Will fix that up and also get [enduring harmony].
I have only just got the first 10K Kurzich rep for the initial quest, so will be getting ["save yourselves!"] ASAP.

And anyways sabway does not suck. Both of the 2 are physicals (bow and war) so sabway is probs best for them. Some more stuff i picked up as mentioned b4 an orders necro or dervish would be helpful along with MoP on the SS necro for a little more AoE. Not sure what to replace it with but i never usually run WoW on my curses necro so there might be a spot. Also have u tried flesh of my flesh over Death Pact sig? if not give that ago and see which works better for you.

I'll keep an eye on [weapon of warding] and see how effective it is. If it's not used much, will swap it out with [mark of pain].

definitely put [save yourselves] in there when u get it. [enduring harmony] is also extremely useful for making [for great justice] last an extra 10 secs so u only have 15 secs downtime instead of 25 secs. the two skills i would take out for these would be [you move like a dwarf] and [light of deldrimor]

You misunderstood.. I was saying [enraging charge]+[flail] is good.. Keep it in your build. But for your ATTACKS, you should try to make it so you can use [dragon slash] as often as possible.

6 necro hero team should work just fine but change skills around for different areas or take one necro for a shutdown mesmer they always can come in handy when in pve stuff

Let's see:
[build prof=N/R name="Master of Whispers" curse=11+1+1 soulr=10+1 wild=10][serpent's quickness][plague signet][foul feast][barbs][mark of pain][enfeebling blood][winnowing][pestilence][/build]
Optional: [reckless haste] or [rend enchantments] or [signet of lost souls] for [pestilence].
Try that with Hundred Blades.

With something like Moloch's suggestion, I'd suggest binding a couple of keys to force that hero to cast MoP and Barbs on your target.

Obviously a bit of microing will improve things but I included Serpent's specifically in order to get a bit more mileage out of Mark. Barbs you really shouldn't need to micro, not with a 5 second recharge; I find that my heroes love nothing more than spamming that skill.

Your build does seem pretty adrenaline-heavy. Might want to take a look at [hundred blades] and [whirlwind attack]. You should most definitely be using some EotN PvE skills, like [asuran scan], [pain inverter], and/or [ebon battle standard of honor]. For your necros, I'd ditch [weapon of warding] on your curses necro for [splinter weapon], swap in [mark of pain] for [insidious parasite], and perhaps look at [icy veins] for your resto healer elite skill (also not sure if that blind ashes spell is worthwhile - I'd personally go with some other weapon/heal spell like [protective was kaolai] or [vengeful weapon]). For your MM, definitely get a 20% enchant staff - great for those 4 enchants he's got (the other 2 40/40 for sure).
As to your partner, I see no condition removal, so perhaps a [ray of judgment] smiter would work out - or a [foul feast] necro with [plague sending]. Maybe an [incoming] [fall back] paragon with some physical DPS and heal/removal abilities. But obviously necros are nice, so I'd prolly take 1-2 [discord] necros and a smiter... Try to slip in spells like [order of pain] and [dwayna's sorrow], and remember there's a difference between party members and allies...
EDIT - FWIW, I think your partner can bring 1 necro, 1 monk and 1 paragon from EotN. I run the following PvE build on my ranger, and weapon swap to a zealous longbow for pulling/barrage:
[build=OgETcN8mZ644xIGcxo4w3QuMXEA]
If you're really hell-bent on bringing a mesmer hero, here's a couple signet builds I used for a bit in HM:
[build=OQNEAoIj688A4amEUSPYE6DoJA]
[build=OQNEAnUz678AQ+mEUi1XudSEAA]
Buff other party members with [succor], as mana not really needed on this character (except for stance)...

I'd lose Succor for Strength of Honor.

You have two physicals.
The plan would be to buff them up - and to bring additional physicals that will benefit from the buffs.
For that - look into:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10254869
Basically, what I'd start with is:
[build=OAhkQoGbYIqk3EGzkghwWQCYy1WI]
(13 SR!)
Add a few ranger/paragons/warriors (although the warrior AI might be a bit sucky - Earth Shaker is really nice!).
Monks with hex removal.
The point of the squishies is to keep the physicals clean and buffed to do damage.
(On a side-note: don't bother looking into the signet mesmers above. It's not pretty.)

Upier, you can add the runes as "+1" in the builds.
