Scattering in HM
I'm talking specifically about a 2 man team where 1 person is the tank and aggro's an entire mob into 1 little group, and the 2nd person applies some sort of damage or hexes to kill the mob.
No matter what I do to reduce the mobs health, (AoE hexes, degen, damage) they always end up breaking up and scattering all over the place.
Is there anyway to reduce the entire mobs health without them scattering, whether it be reducing the health of the tank or something else?

depends what kind of aoe it is. If it is something like meteor shower which causes aoe dmg every few seconds you can't stop the scattering. If it is just SS or something as the tank make sure your HP is below what their HP will drop to ( if using SF just drop it and recast and keep your HP before 50) and they won't scatter. Or have it so the groups left side is touching a wall and they won't scatter.

What do you mean their left side? Just aggro them so they're all close to or touching a wall and then apply the damage?

Look at the top of this post for an explanation of the wall thing.

also, the more frequently u use skills the more likely it will be that they scatter. if ur spamming skills like no tomorrow they scatter for sure, if ur only usin a few skills here and there, youll be fine.

Pull them so that their left side is against a wall. Its really simple.
< is left. If their left side is against a wall they wont scatter. They will however stop attacking, so if ur using SS make sure to wand the one which had SS applied to keep the damage coming.

I see.
So let's say for example if you're the tank and have 1 health. No matter how much damage the mob is taking, they will keep on attacking until they're dead without scattering, even in HM?

Back in the days when we did the Chaos Plain SF farm, we did let run out Shadow Form once to reduce HP to 53 or something. That effectively prevented scatter there. We also brought a vamp weapon to counter the regen while chasing for the next mob. However be careful with any mob that gets even small amounts of damage past SF.

Along with the low amount of health tank trick. The second person should arcane echo RoJ because thats still broken at the moment (Or anomaly or intended?) because nothing scatters from it. And its pretty damn powerfull. But i'd probably take 3 RoJ monks and 1 tank. Even faster -pewpew.

1. Tank can help by using the terrain properly and balling them up tight.
2. You or the tank can help by using a snare or knockdown like [grasping earth] or [meteor shower] (for example) to lead with before the real damage spells.
3. You can help by making sure you stand perfectly still while the tank gets the agro to settle.
4. You can help by using a skill chain that kills faster.
