The problem being is that I keep getting wiped so many times, mostly because of Volatile Oozes popping out of nowhere. Pulling is nearly impossible in HM and the enemy AI is always smarter than the h/h AI in HM. Therefore this dungeon is impossible in HM with using h/h.
EDIT: I was using a ranger using [broad head arrow] and [pain inverter]. The purpose of that is to keep the Earthbind Oozes dazed and have the boss kill itself with it's AoE damage.

I did it many times. The end boss is kindda hard though. Didn't use discord though. Also, the volatiles are pretty easy just do long pulls (yes it is easily possible in hard mode).

Take 3 healer heroes, have damage on yourself, use 3 damage henchies and a helaer henchmen. Split your heroes before agroing so they dont all get hit by aoe
you will win eventually ez..or just use a balanced team and win ez

Pfft, there's so much BS in this thread it's hard to pick but still, one recurring statement i see here has to be adressed, "Discordway is best".
No, it's not nessesarily best at all. Discordway is more or less the most efficient build out there, not the best. Discordway is not made in order to be able to clear anything in the game, it's made with the intention of beeing able to clear most of the content in the game at a very fast pase. Speed over strength

I prefer Ritway even though I have not tried it for ooze pit hm (I may replace the MM with something else for ooze pit). But since not enough people rated it, not many people would know about it.

With the recent buffs to rits, the ritual lord build is viable again and best of all, it can be easily run by a rit hero. Not many people know about this but Shelter = Protective Spirit for your party and all your allies, add in union and displacement and you have a pretty solid defense.

I dropped the MM with a smiting monk I had set up for vanquishing Joko's Domain. With a decent aggro, everything will ball around the Warrior/melee (there are a lot of corners, so it's easy) and so 1 RoJ will do a massive chunk of damage. The rest of the bar was filled with SoH, Smite Hex, Smite Condition, etc. Don't know if it was optimal or not, but it was convenient and got the job done.

The only problem with shelter and displacement is that they die very quick. It's generally not worth it unless your going to fight mallyx or there is a boss that can do a huge aoe and nearly wipe your team that you have to fight.
But yes ritway could be heartier than discordway for ooze pits. May want to bring 2 smiter monks in place of the discord minion masters.

Yes but that is where Ritual Lord comes it. Ritual Lord at 14 spawning reduces the recharge of Shelter by 71% so Shelter becomes 1s cast time with about 13s recharge. Armor of Unfeeling now reduces the damage taken by Shelter (and other spirits) by 50% due to its effect. On top of that, there is also damage reduction from Union and blocking from displacement.
I have not tried the build in ooze pit HM but it performs very well in other general HM areas and physical damage characters would appreciate the level 14 splinter weapon and barbs better, which are absent in pvx discordway.

Discordway is far from amazing. I did this dungeon in 20 minutes, admittedly with 7 players and only one hero, but, you could have taken some sort of decent protection and may have had a chance. Don't they have Obsidian Flesh anyway?

Everything you'd ever need to know about builds and getting through hard areas lies in the wonder that is wiki. try it, with knowledge comes power. knowing, is well a good cliche(i mean know is half the battle) try to learn your dungeon, watch patrols, anylize foes skills and COUNTER! same works for most pvp(except your obervations will be ingame)

The big problem is that most of the condition-inflicting skills rangers have requires someone to be fleshy.
|
dazed, blind, cripple, burning all do not require enemies to be fleshy so that just leaves bleeding/poison and disease i think
Off the top of my head:
Skills - Broadhead Arrow{e}, Concussion Shot, Pin Down, Burning Arrow{e}, Incendiary Arrow{e}, Throw Dirt
Traps - Spike{e}, Snare, Smoke Trap{e}, Flame, Barbed
