It is super defensive and death nova will do tons of damage as the minions die fast and you will have alot of them. And of course whatever target i ping with AP and YMLaD will drop in about 3-4 seconds.

My build by the way:
E/A
Assassin's Promise
You Move Like a Dwarf
Finish Him
Summon Ebon Vanguard
Aura of Restoration
Optional (Can spec 10-12 in any attribute and put a spell here)
Disrupting Dagger
Res Signet

For the optional I use glyph of restoration and dump attributes in to ES for lots of energy.

Disrupting dagger is great because the enemy gets interrupted from the KD from YMLaD then as soon as its back up gets KD from Ebon Vanguard and (if its still alive) then as soon as its back up gets interrupted from the disrupting dagger.

Only time I die is when i over aggro a boss group and a couple of other groups and I am low on minions. Pretty much makes most of HM a joke.

With the current state of PvE, none of the above.

Spiritway would rule due to ritualists getting buffs after buffs to their skills. Sabway and Discordway were both created when rits sucked, so sabway/discordway are outdated as the best choice, but of course they are still effective.

It's a decent base, but needs work. Specifically, the communing hero should be built for damage, not for laying down defensive spirits that would only prot minions (lol). The MM shouldn't necessarily be dip into curses either. It mostly depends on your main, either prot or smiting IMO.

Fiends would have worked better if it intends to use defensive spirits and I guess the reason for the MM not being prot is because of the defensive spirits in the first place.

Anyway, spirits + minions are the new power meta for heroes which is why both sabway and discordway are outdated.

I go with two N/Rt discord necros, for henchmen two monk, two warrior. Last hero varies. Used to take a mesmer, but next time taking an SoS ritualist to see how that synergizes with SoGM on my bar.

Discord is still one of best vanq builds because of it's simplicity and speed. In most cases, it is vastly superior to spiritways because of the lack of setup time, and the lack of 1 aoe spell ruining your offense for 20 seconds. However, to truly use discord to it's potential, you must use a necro(sin can work well, but nec is better), which makes spiritways more available to more professions.

I guess that's one way of doing it, but you're wasting an entire bar on a VQ build just to have prots for your fiends? Doesn't seem worth it to me, when PS/Aegis is usually enough to prot everything else.

Anyway, defensive spirit spammers have their place, but not in VQ builds and not with bone minions. As for the MM, with an assassin player, smiting would probably get you better returns than curses regardless.
