Coming back to GW - Which build to play
Hi, I recently started playing Guild Wars again, mainly with the WiK Event going on, and now I'm eager to vanquish some areas.
I heard there were 2 great build wars HM vanquishing with H/H, Discord and Sabway.
Now I wonder which one of those I should use?
I'm playing a Dervish...
I heard Discord is faster, but you need condition/hexes on your foes while in Sabway you can basically lean back and watch the show...
So which one should I use? What are the pros and cons?

Discord is definitely faster in most areas if you can provide the hexes/conditions,but as a primary dervish you're probably going to be best off with Sabway.
Build is on PvX,so I'm not going to explain it-but as a general rule for physicals you should use Sabway and for casters Discord.
Discord for casters because they can easily apply conditions and hexes thanks to their higher energy.
Sabway for physicals because generally Sabway supports them better and it doesn't require any thing of the person playing.

Spiritway is another cookie cutter to enter since the Rit buffage and is in many players opinion the better of all three.
It's all I really use any more and I have been extremely impressed with it's effectiveness.
Theres a basic template on PvX.
Welcome back.

From the point of view of a physical (specifically, Warrior), there are very few, if any, reasons to use a cookie-cutter build other than Spiritway. Sabway is a bit outdated, and Discord just sucks. Sure, it'll get the job done, but people worship it because they are idiots and Discord works in such a way that it'll cover up all your mistakes. There are much better options. Tailor your heroes to what you are doing, not the other way around.
PS: If you want a better comparison on Discord vs. Non-Discord hero setups, read this: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/d...t10434120.html
It's a Warrior based thread, but the Discord comparisons are pretty generic.

Hmm yes I tried Spiritway and Sabway out, must say Spiritway just rocks, it makes HM easy as hell... The only two times I failed were NOX and POX and that in NM ;(
Any Ideas about those two?

There are a number of overpowered hero builds out there, and pairing them together is easy. But you have to always think about synergy and context. For example, seeing as you're a Dervish, you are going to want to slip Strength of Honor in there - so, where to put it? There are a number of options, but these are the best three (in my opinion):
1) On your Signet of Spirits rit. Take SoS, Bloodsong, Splinter, Ancestors' Rage, Energy Management (either spirit siphon or renewing surge), Castigation Signet, Strength of Honor and a Res. This is a nice option, the rit can fully invest in Smite and castigation + a rit energy management skill can allow the rit to go spam crazy on Splinter and AR. This is what I use.
2) An Ether Rewal Prot - with smite. The following: Infuse, Hex Removal (smite hex or a prot hex removal), Prot Spirit, Spirit Bond, Strength of Honor, Aura of Restoration, Ether Renewal, Life Attunement. This is a very good healer hero, honestly it is! Aura of Resto + Ether Renewal give limitless energy and life attunement can be cast on the hero himself and other non-attack heroes to increase the healing gained. Whilst this is a good choice, you can't invest fully into smite like you can with the Rt - I run this without the smite element.
3) Minion Bomber + SoH. Necro Elite (a number of good choices, Aura of the Lich, Jagged Bones, I run Discord), Animate Bone Minions (or Horrors/Fiends), Death Nova, Putrid Bile, Signet of Lost Souls, Masocism, SoH, Optional. Again, you can't really fully commit to Smite with this build, but a lot of people give their bombers secondary jobs such as protting or cleaning but with his death novas and long cast animate spells he'll be tied up a lot of the time and a maintenance enchantment is perfect to leave him free to necro away. I use my bomber with Enfeebling Blood and Foul Feast instead.
If you want a full discussion of physical hero builds theres a locked thread a couple of threads down which has an extensive arguement on the subject. If you can pick through the dross theres some good stuff in there.
