Pain of disenchantment is definitely not as good as spiteful spirit. Do the math. At 14 curses, pain of disenchantment will do 94 damage to adjacent foes every 15 seconds (that's the recharge) IF the target had an enchantment (which, to be fair, it usually does, if the AI is running the bar). At 14 curses, spiteful spirit will do 33 points of damage to adjacent foes every time the target attacks or uses a skill, which is going to be a good 10-15 times in the same 15 seconds. That adds up to way more damage than 94.

If you don't like the fact that spiteful spirit is wiped out when the target dies, don't forget that you have the same problem with pain of disenchantment, and at least spiteful spirit has a quicker recharge (10 vs. 15 secs.).

I really don't think it's even close.

That's a lot of heroes if I'm reading that right, lol. I also forgot to mention that I sometimes use a BHA Ranger instead of healer Necro for kicks if I feel like shutting down a Caster that has devastating AoE damage output.

As of late, Spirit Spam has become my favorite thing, but I don't feel the heroes run it as good as a human player. They aren't very discriminate with their placement of the spirits and I often see them getting wiped out for being too bunched together.

I think you read it wrong, but it was confusingly worded. It said, 1 SoS hero, 1 Nec hero with Discord and minion skills, 1 Nec hero with Discord and curses and some resto skills. Also, PI > BHA in that situation I find. I can't remember the last time I was wiped when it wasn't obviously my fault for going afk and leeroying as a nec or something similar. Heroes can't play the SoS as well as humans - they're just too stingy when it comes to using skills. But to be honest, there's not a lot of microing involved in getting it right. Just 3 clicks for the spirits when appropriate, there's not even specific targeting or target locking involved

Sabway was always reliant on you doing the damage, it did dish out massive heals. Back in the days of ursan, ran 2 healers and the bomber. Cleared out many places only b/c ursan was doing damage and being supported by the necros. In these days melee has it better with sab b/c there is splinter.

Equipment:

I've been using Sabs or the discord version on my ranger and war for a bit and it's been great in HM. Lately I've been running discord team with my necro. I have a question about equipment for the heroes and my necro. Mainly if it's better to use a 20/20 all set or a staff.

I think the 40/40 sets for the restor and mm hero is fine, but 40/40 on curse seems like a waste since there's only 4 curses and his main attack is discord. I hex and condition right off the bat AP/YMLAD. I switched to a 20/20 all on him and don't see much of a difference. Did the same for my primary necro. Is it generally better to run a 20/20 all set or a staff with HP for HM?

They are equiped with torementors and vitae runes. Doesn't seem to be a better option for hm. I leave a bloodstained on the mm since I switch between mm and discord builds or hybrid.

I hustled through NF just so I could get the third Necro hero (I choose Margrid instead of MoW), just so I could try this team build. I am sure it wont work in all areas, but where it does work, it works very well. I play as a Mesmer, so I call targets, and put my stuff on them, and watch them die quickly.

What I really like about this build is that when you switch to the next target, they usually already have substantial health loss. Maybe now I can do those silly WiK quests.
