The biggest issue is that the Para is still doing single target damage. Freeing up slots on the Mesmer isn't going to replace the damage the Ele is putting out, even if you combine it with the Paragon Utility.

The splinter weapon that you have brought along for your derv can also be used on the para, so the para is not just dishing out single target damage. With MoP, if you micro it right, that damage can also be magnified further.

True, however, why bother when the Derv is going to need it constantly via his 3 hits per attack mechanic anyways? Minions are also targeted for Splinter Weapon. The Paragon isn't really providing a good target for Splinter when those are present.

IMO, MQ vanquish is a joke and as long as you have fall back you can pretty much bring anything you want. If you don't want discordway I would drop the two mesmers and the MM and take 3 SF eles (with fall back on each but 16 fire magic). The two mesmers can not spike as fast as SF eles and if your moving/killing fast enough minions should not be able to catch up. Depending on how fast your derv can spike I would go with any adaptation of AP + Finish Him that you want as you should be constantly pressing c+1+2+c+1+2 and having people die.

A few years back I tried this and myself and a friend (he was monk, I went necro AP) and 6 SF heros could vanquish MQ in 12/13 minutes.

Sure but just because Splinter can be used by many doesn't necessarily imply a Paragon hero is a worse choice than an ele (which was the original comparison).

lol i would if I had the time. I just did a quuick run with the currently revised build :

works pretty sweet, 19mins now im at per run, for the faction this mq gives (booyah!)

The sf causes a bit of scatter but they drop fasssst.

Though im think if my Derv's dps could be better. I dropped the SoH, the splinter gets casted on me pretty much all the time when i engage em.

Would maybe a VoS build be stronger?

Also, does the new set up look pro? xD

edit : forgot to show that i replaced weap of warding for vengful weapon

Sure it does. It's the only AoE he has going for him and it can simply be applied to someone else. Even through utility, he's not gonna beat the Ele.

Having a SF ele in general HM is not the strongest DPS either and it is not like you are using it for "They're on Fire". At least with the paragon there is more synergy with the derv, spirits, and minions.

Anyway, almost anything would work in pve with 7 heroes.

i'm aware anything works in pve, but doesnt mean we cant find the BEST for a certain area?

But i see what you guys are saying about the ele. I'll have to think about that one.

And thoughts on my derv?

I'm looking at VoS, but testing it out in HM the damage seems.. a bit low? Would Grenths+aura work better? with vamp scythe and maybe aoe skill like twin moon/chill vic ?

edit : im aware this is a HEROES thread, but its on topic cause i want to have the best possible synergy with them.

edit x 2 : i'm down to 17mins for 10290 lux faction (as soon as i stepped on the map and /age right when the last guy died).Although i did kinda wander the map slightly a few times and died twice by accidently by passing one mob into two more....which coulda eaten up another minute or so..
