Mesmer all the way. The communing rit just slows you down for a lot of PvE. If you really want one though, make a N/Rt go SoS and run communing on Xandra.

To be honest I'm real glad they chose Razah. Anything else would have been extremely unfair towards those who did invest in mercenary heroes. Basically, if you play Rit yourself. Do it! No need to even hesitate. Cause you wont ever be needing 2x Hero rits on a primary ritualist but you could really make good use of that last mesmer.

For harder areas Rt is probably better. But for other areas (your typical mission or VQ) mesmer will probably edge.

I've converted Razah to mesmer for style. Having 4 mesmers in the team is cool.

Honestly, my team is much more solid without a second ritualist and with a third mesmer. It allowed me to do some configuration to an ideal setup.

Though I never used those silly communing rit builds, either. I like damage spikes to happen at the beginning, not at the end, of a battle. 3 mesmers + any sort of spiking build have plenty of firepower at the end to clean up, no need to have someone spending the battle putting down spirits for that purpose.
