[Help-DOA] Anyone else having trouble with Foundry after ele update?
I'm having so much trouble getting through foundry with the new ele update. I'm running an A/ and nukes from the Dryders and Rage titans just owns my whole group. I've only gotten through the first rooms once, only to fail because of over-aggro.
Any tips/builds? I've got all heros geared up and runed.

AFAIK the only change in their skill set is that Shockwave on Rage Titans now inflicts some fairly inconsequential conditions. The Armor->HP change sounds like its your bigger obstacle, might want to look into altering your build in light of the fact that armor respecting stuff does an extra 20% or so damage.

The biggest change is that Churning Earth now only takes them a base of 2 seconds (buffed in Hard Mode) to cast.
I'd suggest turning off "Fall back!" if you have it on.

I've had a little trouble, but then again foundry's always been a pain in the neck for me.
I have no trouble dealing with the terrorwebs and rage titans ect. I only run into difficulty when I hit The Fury's group, who seem to spike me faster than i can kill them.
I'm a warrior btw, so up front, and the team i'm running is trip mesmer, which seems to rupt nearly everything.
Hope that helps.

Blind is the issue. Solution: contagion+ff/draw with dark aura and plague touch. Enjoy!

I've noticed that the Rage Titans now feel a lot nastier than they have any right to be. Guessing it's the cracked armor on their PBAoE.

Yes with the first ele update a few areas are now more difficult. Besides DoA, the HM Titans quests have also become more difficult.
If you think this is bad, wait till they come with the ele skill update part 2, where more non-elite ele skills would be buffed.
I use mesmers with Mantra of Frost + Winter. Another idea that I have, that I have yet to try, is to bring Ward against Harm or Ward against ele if you are not already bringing SY.

How so? I figure that 99% of teams are being protted by SY or ST/PS. The former still reduces the damage to almost 0, the latter is almost unaffected. Even if you are using some other kind of prot (or if SY/ST falls), the cracked armor doesn't bother your casters (which are at least 90% of most groups) who are sitting at 60 AL anyway.
The only time I can see cracked armor really hurting a team is when you rely on SYG/WY a lot, which basically does nothing since CA 90% counteracts the effect.
My guess is that the perceived difference is from a bunch of AoE enemies that used to die in 6 seconds now dying in 9 seconds, causing party defense that could previously withstand the full might for a short time to crumble over an extended period. Even worse if the increased resilience gives them time to AoE scatter, getting further behind your lines to do more damage and making the battle longer still.

From the wiki, the rage titans use shockwave whose damage now comes in 3 seperate packets so skills like PS would not fully protect against it. It recommends bringing Union or SoA.

Shockwave's damage isn't the problem, that was unchanged from the previous update. The only addition are the conditions, which shouldn't matter that much (assuming your physicals have a way to bypass the blind, which should be mandatory already).

Then Chthon is probably right. If they are more difficult now than before, and the only difference is the conditions, then it is probably cracked armor that made the difference. Most casters with insignia and skills like SYG/SY, would not be sitting in 60AL before cracked armor. Blind can also be a problem if you are relying on SY. Besides, doesn't the hp buff only applies to HM?

It could also be that they never lived long enough to actually use Shockwave before, and now they do. I dunno.
In any event, these guys used to be a forgettable, trivial form between the big warriors and the annoying wugga wugga bugs, and now they are the primary threat in foundry.
