just farmed this in hm with 55 in hm for 1hr 30mins and got no golds, just some purples, dust bones and coupla runes.
i dont get how you guys are getting such good drops.

I've farmed it a few times in hard mode and I'm getting multiple golds each run. This was actually the first time I've got a Dead Sword from this run too.

I'm not making as much of the materials and whites I used to sell off, but the upgrades, runes and more golds I'm receiving from this more than make up for it.

I'm just stating the fact that you get less plat. I dont argue that HM gives purple or gold but you said iy yourself, you need to throw some purples anyway.

Yes you can get deadsword in HM but you can get them to in NM prior to nerf.

... Just had to check, as people keep talking about using it with warriors and I got seriously confused for a while there.

Meh... I suppose I might well try bringing my Monk or my Ritualist to Nightfall to farm these little bastards... but if they're so common now that the price has dropped into the pit then I might as well just buy one.

Has anyone found a decent Derv build for farming these in HM? I did the quest on my monk long before I knew about dead swords (memo to Anet: please stop punishing me for doing quests as soon as I see them :P )

I just pulled a req 9 15^50, 20/20, +30 dead sword. Hard mode with 55 SoA/SoJ. That same run, i pulled a req 10 with crappy mods.

I highly doubt that you had that "perfect" sword drop. Unless someone else here has gotten a Dead Sword with perfect mods that dropped or you can post a screenshot of it dropped from the monster/enemy whatever you want to call them. You can easily slab a 15^50, 20/20, +30 and claim that it dropped exactly like that for you.

First run in HM with a VWK W/Rt. Picked up a req 9 max dead sword with 15^50 and +29. Did the run in NM about 10 times for one req 8 14-20 before chancing my luck in HM.

Used the VWK build from the first post - i've never run it before and it was pretty forgiving - got VWK interrupted twice and pulled through. Only difference is 0 in Axe and i subbed Healing Sig out for Shield Stance in case Bonetti's wasn't charged.
