Does anyone know of any spots in HM on the Prophecies campaign where I'd be able to farm for these as my necro?
Thanks.

Do some SS'ing for 55/SS smite runs in UW, I usually get a tome or two a run and the ectos don't hurt either .

Hmm, I'll think about it. I've had some terrible luck in UW in the past >.<

Yeah, underworld smites is... basically all i could think of. They're the only monk monsters that don't heal much and are primarily melee.

well tbh if you are using a build say, off pvx then it should ahve a list of farmable bosses, all you will have to do is find an easy monk boss that u can do in Hm and you will be easially get elite monk tomes.

HM Snowmen, first 2 groups go as a ranger or ele, there's a thread a couple pages back... You'll get a tome every 2-3 runs and it's a 2-3min run.
For elite, I'd go for Dunsheck, pretty close & easy to sliver, and the green is pretty good.

While those are all good farms, I think the OP is Proph/Fact-only which severly limits the builds he can run and areas he can farm. (I'd like some clarification from the OP as to if this is the case though, the point wasn't made very clear)
For boss running, I'm not sure there's much you could do since 55 SS typically runs into problems against HM healers.
I'll check wiki again for potential bosses (smite bosses might be your only option) but in the mean time, I suggest browsing through Fuzzy Taco's massive necro farming guide to see if you can't find some ideas.

Easiest farm you'll ever do as a Necro for Monk tomes?
Byzzr Wingmender with a 55 Spoil Victor necro. Bring along Necrotic Traversal or Consume Corpse, hide behind the huge rock, and elite monk tomes will start dropping. Just be sure to also bring Protective Spirit and healing Breeze, and use these before teleporting to pick up loot, as the popups can instantly kill you if not protected.

Byzzr is definitely the best for leet monk tomes - to be honest, you don't even need Prot Spirit and Healing Breeze - you can pick up ~5 drops before the pops attack you. i'd use mesmer skills like Empathy to further speed the run. perhaps Ignorance to stop Sigs, etc.
for regular monk tomes, if you're not a fan of UW, try killing some Mantid Monitors on Shing Jea in HM (my favorite explorable area for this is Kinya Province. they go down very quickly to basic 55/SV, and you can also kill the necros with them, as well as the 'sin boss for chances at elite sin tomes, which can at least make a teeny bit of money now.
if neither of those tickle your fancy, the next thing i can think of (that hasn't already been posted) is probably HM Undead - the monks go down very easily to Holy damage (55/SoJ is nice) and they have an ok droprate. I'd highly suggest mantids over this, though.

Farming the Mantid Monitors in Kinya Province (outside Ran Musu Gardens) with a 55/105hp necro or monk SV build... can also get Necro tomes too, as all the mantids there are either monks or necros. Plus Sin boss there for chance at Elite tome.
Doh, you beat me too it.

In Prophecies there's those azure shadow things outside camp rankor and in other places. IIRC they just smite and use SoJ, so they go down pretty easy.
