Erm title says it all really, can you get them from farming? chests maybe or lucky drop perhaps?

theoretically r7's could drop in prophecies, and factions campaigns, However when those campaigns were new and busy, the drop rate was super slim. Now that these campaigns are next to dead, their drop rates are alot closer to 0, than .000000000001%.

Unless a Dev has said otherwise, i consider there to be no right answer as to if r7's drop or not. I believe my theory to be most rational, as i have heard of no "r7's no longer drop" update.

The last Req 7 I got was about 1 1/2 years ago in twin serpent lakes while i was solo farming the tengu and white mantle. It was a req 7 falchion 13% stance. It is possible for them to drop still according to gaile just the odds are so low now that no one farms tyria/cantha. I would farm the jungle area and twin serpent lakes if I was hunting for one. I do know my brother got a req 7 plagueborn focus that was non perfect from a canthan chest during the vizunah square mission in normal mode a while ago.

Got a r8 shield earlier - it was a white one, although it was max, so I just salvaged it. I was soloing the Mesmers outside Seeker's Passage.

Most reported drops are from Tyria and Cantha, and try foes that
are just below lvl. 20, like the Vermins in NM.

I'm not being stupid, my statement is a fact. Gaile's answer was vague, she just told us Q7 golds drop. Like we didn't know that already. The question still remains, are they max. So drawing that "devs said so" card is pointless.

The quote posted said she spoke to the item designer, who said "Req 7 items do drop, but they are super rare." Obviously he was referring to max weapons, as you can find req 7 non max golds everywhere. Now, they may only drop in prophecies and Tyria (which is quite probable, as presumably the item drop system was changed when inscriptions were put in place), but they had to still be dropping SOMEWHERE at the time gaile made that statement.

Can you prove he was refering to max? And my outlook is, they do not drop anymore. A-net might not have said anything but they are a bit unbalanced same reason that r7 15 shields are worth alot, it has to do with attributes. You can hit r7 by just taking one point outta one of your 2 12s, to hit 8 you need to dump 2 points and you will have a few extra. Just my opinion. Plus the fact no real comfirmed drops have been seen in a while. If someone can show me a screen that is not obviously shopped of a req. 7 reserved to someone with some way of showing it is post Nightfall I will change my mind.

It was about 2-3 months ago a req 7 max dmg summit axe went up in price check forums I contacted the person and it dropped in the iron horse mines while in Hard Mode. I was one of the people that pushed for the question to gaile and yes they do drop still and keep in mind I was one of the people that for a long time believed they didn't drop anymore but I found evidence to prove otherwise.
(I am gonna search the forums for the axe hopefully I can find the post.)

Another recent one is a gold r7 16al aegis which the owner mentioned that it dropped in HM outside augury.
