SF or 600/Smite.
Hiya.
So, i've been SFing the UW for a while now. I know that it is a profitable run etc etc.
But because of no.1 The boredom of it & no.2 How lonely I get, lol, i'm considering 600/smite'ing the UW instead, mainly because I'll have someone with me to make it abit more fun.
My question is, Is 600/smite really that much less profitable than the A/E SF?
Will I be missing out on lots of £$&Ecto? Or not so much?
Also, I understand that the 600/smite run is alot quicker.
Thanks for reading.
Also. Say I did 4 hours of UW 600/Smite a night, how long, on average, would it take me to get enough ecto/money for FoW?

Well, I think loot scaling would have a factor. I'm not positive on how it works though. I do 600/smiting in UW occasionally, It's only fun if you get a nice 600/smite to run with. I've had a few really terrible ones.
Also, my first smite run with a friend yielded 3 ectos (We did the first quest and went to smites.) Not sure if loot scaling helped or if it was purely luck.

you get about hlaf as much asuming you split 50/50 rare materials are excluded from loot scaling so you get sligtly less a run but as u said its faster but you get about the same per hour maybe few less doing 600/smite but you can hm 600/smite so u get more rare drops

600/Smite is still pretty profitable, but your question about how long it takes to get fow is pretty much impossible to answer imo.
drops will be different depending on the person.

SF is a lot more profitable. 600/smite takes a lot longer

If his main goal are ectos then HM or NM is not an issue here, he can use NM and get the same ecto drops as in HM.
Go with SF, you get more ectos for yourself that way, and less hassle about getting a "partner".

I've often contemplated this myself. SF does tend to get boring and lonely.
While SF is more profitable for youself, there is a lot more you can farm as 600/Smite...

HI.
SF is definetly more profitable, i used to 600/smite uw all the time i did potentially thousands of runs until my bestestestest freind stopped playing ;( , with 600/smite we usually cleared the smites only and sometimes the chaos planes too although we could clear many other places it just prolonged the run and made less ecto for the time farmed.
The most ecto from one smite run was 7 and for doing both the smite run and choas planes up to 15 but the choas planes takes much longer with 600/smite because you can't just agro all dreamriders at once since you cant maintain sb forever like sf and you risk being wiped by the mesmer spawns so the run is slower
usually 600/smite runs would take 40mins-hour whereas an sf run can take as little as 25 mins an yeild up to 10 e and considering you would be spltting you'd probably be making less than half of the ecto you could if you spent the same time sf'ing the planes.
In all honesty though i would much prefer to be farming the uw with my bestestest buddy super duper bestest 600/55 in the whole world than soloing.. aaaah it's much more fun, i miss the old days ;/
And your fow question .. hmmm a tough one but ill attempt to answer it.. we used to average i'd say around 5e each per hour after splitting so 20e per night for you, fow is ~700k/200 e which would take you 10 days but more realistically around 2 weeks because drops vary alot.
