Given its difficulty and length, I doubt anyone would want to touch that dungeon, let alone farm it.

The problem is that the bow has a lower drop rate then the voltaic spear has, and theres no shortfire way to do it. All enchantment based builds fail due to incubi, etc and just overall its a pain. Whilst it is doable, and not too hard, even a full exp team will take 30 - 45 mins to get to the boss. Then considering the sheer amount of time you'll have to clear it to get the bow its not worth it. Far easier to farm the money and wait for some lucky bastard to get a drop and sell it.

its not bad with a balanced group just dont over aggro and youll be fine, if you have trouble consets help too. Theres no surefire way to run it or "farm" it you just have to go do it (at least not yet, lol)

well that's just it - someone must farm it in some fashion for the end result. I've done it numerous times now with guildies and with H/H averaging around 40mins but like I said, there's always a bigger/better/faster mouse trap. I can't figure I'd be the only one trying to track one of these down.
As for the comment on farming the necessary $$ to purchase one - I'm typically the type of person who prefers to farm the item themselves. There's some slight satisfaction in earning it/ having it drop for you. That and the last one I saw on guru went for 100k +225 ecto. I'd have to be farming ecto like mad (or buying it) which isn't something I'm currently doing (nor do I have any characters appropriately set up to farm ecto).

well, do the same thing you did for the fourty minute run, in nm, the chest already has a double drop because it's considered an "epic" dungeon, but it's remarkabley easy in nm, and since i'm assuming you're a ranger since you're so feverishly seeking this bow, for this dungeon BHA, epi, volley, and that should make any team burn through it in nm in like 20mins.

NM runs can be easily done in 45min with H/H.
HM takes about 1.5hours.
Not really farmable, at least I don't know of a way.

It seems you are only guessing, or do you know from experience?

Voltaic Spears (before farming crashed the prices) costed a lot less ectos than the bow does. Spears were 100k+10e and bows, as mentioned, are like, 100k+225e. Higher price = less supply.
Logic says yes, though if you wanted to be official about it you'd have to farm at least 10 of reach and count the runs that takes. GW2 could be out by the time you've finished, tbh.

All that means is that there are more people hitting the Slaver's chests, which (even before the run release) is very true.
If the Bow droprate was 2x the Spear droprate, but 10 slavers chests were opened for every 1 Frostmaw's chest (numbers made up on the spot, but you get the idea), there will be more Spears even if they have a lower droprate.

Ok, lets assume it drops the same as the VS... it still takes the same time to get there, and is alot more difficult to get a party for... it just isnt feasible to 'farm' there unless ur so lucky ull get one after 15 - 30 runs or so.

really all that the price difference means is that people do slavers more often than they do frostmaw's. plus there are 5 chests that drop voltaics, well if you count UW, FoW, and ZChest there are 8, whereas only 4 that drop silverwing, and i'm not really sure about UW and FoW dropping it, but i'm assuming they do.

I dont tried, or even planned to do it but....
What about a 600 hp tank (monk, for initial idea) and a smiter like always?
I know that there are incubus in that place but...
would it be hard to use a team of heroes/mates that bring a lot of enchants (just for "trap" the AI of incubus) and "Martyr" + "Corrupt feast" + "Draw Conditions" ?
I suppose that if you use some long duration enchants (about 30 secs) and short recharge (maybe +-5 secs), the AI will trigger and try to reap your enchants and daze you for a few secs as soon as it notices that you'r enchanted. So you got 15 secs to kill em by the smiter enchants.
I mean, cover your smiter and own enchants with others just for give you some protection until you can 600-ing normally.
Maybe is too small window-time but could work :P
As you want the reward and not the drop on the way... you got 6 slots to fill with any full-enchanter/condition remover char.
Dont know if it worths the effort anyways...
What's your oppinion on that? ^^

Haha funny. So everyone should be playing in easy areas?
This is probably my favourite dungeon and i love doing it because it's challenging and theres a possibility of a great reward. I did it once in HM (no consumables) with H/H and a few times in NM (Believe it or not, i ended the HM run with no DP while i had some DP everytimes i did it in NM, weird).

... easier to work off DP in HM due to higher XP gained from killing mobs?
But yes, I've been able to do Frostmaw's once too with H&H, and once in NM with friends a long time ago, and I must admit to wanting to go back some more for that elusive Silverwing Recurve Bow.....

Frostmaw's isn't done much because of its difficulty to most players and not to forget the usual let down.....onyx gems and diamonds from the end chest. I don't think a farm build exists yet for this.
Personally the only reason I would do Frostmaw's is for fun or for the north points. Other than that I'll stick to ecto grinding if I want one.
Maybe a bit off topic but: Dungeons would be less boring and worth repeating if the end chest wasn't so crappy.

but ganni, when you do frostmaw's you are guaranteed a lockpick also. that alone makes it worth it, i should think.

Even better, if you run it in HM and make sure to check the hidden chests, you will usually get around 5-10 lockpicks. Even opening every locked chest I come across I usually leave with more lockpicks then I went in with.
I've done it maybe 15 times and never seen a silverwing bow though, and thats usually with 1-3 other people.
