Good starting class to farm with?
Hi right now the highest level I have is a 11 Nec, so I don’t really have any money to make some elite farmer. I want to make a character that can farm so that I can use him to help out my other characters. So what could a good starting class be for someone that really has no money to help build it? I have all of the expansions so I can use any class.
Thanks

i sense a closed thread in very near future. Read the rules before you post. each class has its own strenghts and weaknesses depending on what you want to farm.

I have been reading around and I have read that Nec, Ranger, Mesmer and War are not good for solo farming. Also I know I don’t have the money to make a 55 Monk or a 55 anything. And some classes I just have yet to see anyone talk about when it comes to farming
I tried doing a search for my question before posting, but couldn’t find anything. So I’m just trying to get a idea on what some options are for a new player.

there is a thread stickied in the farming forums dealing with farm builds of every profession, and numerous other posts with info are on the stickies as well.
also, at level 11, the last thing you should be trying to do is farm.
hey marty, don't ya wish you had a dollar for every one of these threads that you close each day? be a rich man by now...

Yeah I have looked at them, but none of them answer my question. Just a list of random builds don’t help me because I don’t know what builds can be done without already having the money needed to make the build, like a 55 anything.
And of course I’m not going to farm with a lvl 11. I want to make a character and get him to lvl 20 so that he can farm and then can use the gold he gets to help out my other characters.

Perhaps you should just play through the game once or twice. You'll then have the money to buy stuff for farming.

Ele, assassin, monk, rit, or warrior are probs best for farming. Good skills include shadow form, vengeful was kanaai, prot spirit. Try search...

If you just play the game, pick up everything and merch it, you will get money. You can use that to fund your first farmer.
I use a Mes (cos that was my first character to get everywhere), but I am developing a Necro and Monk, both of which are pretty versatile farmers. Eles are pretty strong as well. As they said before, go check out the farming threads; there are a couple I have bookmarked that give you the rundown of builds and areas you can farm with whatever class you want (I have Mes and Necro bookmarked, every region in the game spelled out). I have even discovered a few builds and areas of my own, albeit not vastly profitable. Mostly I am just proud to have figured out how to do it.

You're level 11. Seriously, play the game and farm later when you want elite armor and nice skinned weapons. By then, you'll have plenty of money (especially with Factions, money comes in fast on Shing Jea island).
Btw, you don't actually need to farm at all, you make it seem as if it's an absolute first priority. You'll easily have enough to get by as you progress through the game (I farm maybe half an hour every few months and have 400k in storage and ~400k on my characters). I really wouldn't bother farming until you've beaten a campaign or two.
I'm going to close this. You're level 11, and you won't have problems getting/finding builds or anything once you've gotten some stuff done. As normal, PM me about this if you want.
