Where is the best place to farm:

Feathers
Wood Planks
Iron Ingots
Bone
Granite Slabs
Plant Fiber
Dust Piles

and what builds should be used?

Granite Slabs = Sulfurous Wastes (monoliths) dunno builds... (salvage the trophies)
Feathers = 600/smite Nahpui Quarter HM (i think)
Dust = Raptor Nestlings, ID every blue, purple, gold, save great conches and put "Measure for Measure" inscriptions on them, salvage for 70-150 dust each.
Bone = 55 Bergen Hotsprings

Not sure about others...

The Old Ascalon elemental farming is still pretty good for Granite farming imo.

plant fiber: try killing that mob of plants outside toa. i remember doing that to get a few fibers.

Feathers - tengu in cantha , caromi outside la , skree fledgelings in istan and skree around vabbi - all these drop trophies that also salvage into feathers
Wood Planks - majority of weapons specially wooden shields and bramble bows thruout gw can be salvaged
Iron Ingots - weapons , armor drops - best use wiki to check what exactly
Bone - anywhere with undead - bergen hotsprings,gates of kryta,fahranur (istan) gives plenty of bone drops
Granite Slabs - hulks outside ascalon drop granite and stones that salvage into granite ( 1 per salv sadly ) , kirin horns from cantha
Plant Fiber - any plant seeds and sometimes from plant foes - iboga/dragon moss etc
Dust Piles - undead places , celestial essences , eotn the ice elementals outside olafstead drop a remain ( same look as cel essence ) that salvage into dust .

Theres more drops but id recommend going to wiki and searching for each material then selecting either drops dust or contains dust for each and it gives a broader idea of what and where to farm

wood and iron are just about the easiest materials to come by in this game. just about every mob drops some combination of axes, swords, shields, daggers, scythes, spears, bows, and staves. the first 6 on this list all have a shot of salvaging to steel, some of those and the last two also have a shot of salvaging to wood. i farm caromi outside of LA for feathers, dust i get in the UW and FoW along with undead in CoF and SoO and from 600/smitiing GoK. undead also give tons of bones and the caromi also drop bones. i dont' really have a good farm for plant fibers but i get a lot from doing urgoz.

plant monsters in vabbi give lots of fibers, enchanted brambles in particular...600/smiting resplendent makuun or holdings of chokhin will net u a stack or so per run in HM...bramble weapons will salvage into plant fiber, too. Djinns in hidden city drop essences that make dust if u wanna stay in vabbi...otherwise, just wiki the material u want and see what drops it, then find out where those monsters are and farm away...gl
