Don't use for survivor, likely to die.
Yeah, Urals Hammer is needed a fair bit.

That was about the same time it took me to get a stack.
I've been thinking about other places to use this build, it seems to be fairly specific to the Raptor Nestlings though.

For this to work you need a massive bunch of melee creatures that have a block skill up all the time. That's pretty much just raptors, afaik anyway.

You'll want a 20% enchant weapon, but it doesn't have to be on a scythe. Just remember to swap to any scythe before you attack or use whirlwind. The Nightfall pre-order scythe has a 20% enchant grip if you have that available.

Sand Shards only triggers on 'scythe attacks that fail to hit'. If you Whirlwind with a sword, for example, you'll probably hit a few raptors, but you won't get the big SS explosion from it. Thats the only requirement. Use a starter scythe if you want. Or the banana scythe. The soulbreaker you get from the nightfall CE has an enchant mod, so I suppose thats optimal, but it doesn't really matter.

Right what am i doing wrong here guys!! Nm is so effortless for me to clear the whole cave out excluding the boss...however hm is a diff story!!!
I sprint to cave, stop at entrance cast sands run in aggro them dolyak>wary>eternal aura> defy pain>by urals hammer (autoattack) then wary again then whirlwind and i seem to die with them all on 10% health because i lose aggro and then they come back.
Attribs: 15 str 11 earth and 5 tactics
Health:500
Energy: 40 (incl asuran bonus)
SS rank: 8
weapon: mox scythe
I am having trouble knowing when to auto attack and how often it seems also cant trap them (but feel no pains video didnt show any trapping at all yet he did it).

The only other spot I can think this build might work is elona reach minotaurs at the start since they spam wary stance. It would be worth testing at the very least.

I used the Sand Shard idea on a 105 HP monk outside of Heroes' Audience to farm Sand Elementals paired with Fleeting Stability, because of the elementals spamming Erruption you are blinded most of the time, imo faster then SoJ because they are KDable^^

They use wary stance which blocks attack skills aka allowing a giant spike with sand shards and whirlwind attack... I am also not responding to your question as I don't have a suitable character to do this build so I have no way of telling you what your doing wrong I am just responding to the thread in general with other possible places to use this build.

Don't auto-attack. From reading your sequence in that post, I think that is your problem. Whirlwind should trigger Sand Shards enough to kill them after you drop them down with Eternal Aura. If it doesn't, then you may not have gathered enough Raptors, your SS rank is not high enough for Eternal Aura to deal enough damage, or not enough of them have Critical Defenses up. If you watch the video again, you will see that don't feel no pain does not attack before Whirlwind.
I think you are confusing the D/W method with the W/D one.

I've just got everything to together and I'm gonna try this alittle later tonight. It looks dope, and just again makes me love my earth prayers even more.
Question,
I'm still gonna give it a shoot but I'm one point short on earth, missing the hood point. Anyone tryed it that way yet? I'll get the hood when I get more gold but just asking.

Furious Axe under FGJ should charge it fast, you just need axe weapon swap.

I'm assuming that you're running the D/W version here. You really need Wary Stance for blocking Disrupting Stab more than anything, and it is hard to replace in that capacity. However, you can use Dust Cloak, if you are desperate. The trick is to cast it 30-odd seconds before the battle. As a rule of thumb, cast it as you pass the Sky Krewe Member. Then, when you are in the cave and aggro'ing try to keep running until Dust Cloak starts to blink (but no longer than that). If you time it right, you'll blind the Raptors for long enough to get some adrenaline, then follow with Whirlwind Attack.
Also, without Prophecies, you're also not going to have access to "To The Limit!", so you'll have to build adrenaline with Cyclone Axe (and a weapon swap) or something like that.
If you have Prophecies, but not Factions, then there's no problem, as none of the skills are Factions-based.

15 Earth Prayers will work, assuming you have "By Ural's Hammer!" and follow the rest of the build advice closely. Also, if you're short on Mysticism as well, just cast Avatar of Balthazar later, around the cave mouth.
