I used [Protective Spirit][Shield of Absorption][Shield of Judgment][Spirit Bond][Balthazar's Spirit][Essence Bond][Blessed Aura] and [Balanced Stance]. Jacked up smiting and prot and ran tactics up until Balanced lasted ~13 seconds. Easy as pie...

Anything for E/Me's? Preferably something light (or with no) NF or EoTN skills.
Tried running the PvX Raptor Farm build with no luck ><

For E/Me you'll need Glyph of Swiftness and Obsidian Flesh to negate meteor the hydras cast on you, then stoneflesh aura and sliver or any attack skills you want, make sure you bring Balthazars Spirit for some e-management.

Thanks for the tips, I'll try this out in a few hours
EDIT: Just realized I can't get Glyph of Swiftness (no EoTN), I'm not far enough in NF for Obsidian Flesh (just started the campaign), and Balths is for /Mo (I'm /Me).
Am I just out of luck?

You could try a [lyssas aura] [stone striker] [Mantra of earth] [Aura of Restoration] balance in spam skills

Except for Stoneflesh, it's all core and Prophecies skills. Yeah, you get knocked down a few times. No big deal, if you just watch your timing. It isn't super fast, but it works for me. (+20% enchants weapon required. 15-16 in Earth Magic recommended.)

Well, I just returned to the game again like two days ago, and thought I would try out some random farming, and hydras have always been nice for me (regardless of how claws have been selling). And since I only have Proph and Factions I went with a classic 55 Monk build.
[Protective Spirit][Healing Breeze][Shielding Hands][Shield of Judgement][Balanced stance][Blessed Aura][Mending][Balthazar's Spirit]
stats are like 7 in tactics, 8 healing, max smite and some prot.
Works in Hardmode, tho the time between shiending hands can be lethal with the insane speed of which they can spam those Phoenix'es.
But if I had Nightfall I would go Mo/D with Shield of Absorbtion instead of Breeze, and Fleeting Stability over balanced. And then replace mending with something. Prolly an extra damage skill.

i went solo with the R/N melee mob toucher (pvxwiki.com) and worked like a charm...you can round up as many as you like so long as you are within the range of [greater conflagration] when you start spamming touch skills...with permanent stormchaser you have neverending energy as every hit gives you +4e..since its only hydras it would probably work in HM, but I've never tried

Aside from the red iris flowers, I'd have to say this was the easiest week of Nick ever. Yup, plain vanilla 55 works great. Got all my claws in one trip. (I might even say the flowers took longer just because of the rezoning)

I've been using a standard 55HP build with Spiteful Spirit as the killer.
Spiteful Spirit
Light of Deldrimor (*shrug* - could use Radiation Field or "I am Unstoppable!" only I didn't have them )
Protective Spirit
Shield of Absorption
Shielding Hands
Essence Bond
Balthazar's Spirit
Blessed Aura
It's quite easy to time to Meteors to get away with the need to bring anti-knockdown.
Precast PS and SH - Count the Meteors... 1..2..3...Cast SS and SoA, /dance.
Perhaps I'm not as lucky as some, Took 100 kills to get the 10 claws I required.

for Hydra farming, I go 55 N/Mo SS and use ["I Am Unstoppable!"] to prevent knockdowns. I love it and works great

Worked this build last night (minus Stoneflesh - I can't get it in NF yet) and continually got hammered whenever I took on more than 2-3 hydras at a time. I'm wearing Blessed max armor with the right staff.
Before aggro, I applied all enchantments (Ether Renewal a split second before aggro) and used Stone Daggers until they grouped me and proceeded with AoE then spammed Daggers (to get Ether Renewal benefit). The problem as I see it is that Ether Renewal runs dry too quickly (16 seconds in) and I'm left with just the other defensive enchantments with no way of regaining health while I wait for ER to recharge.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: Staff I'm using: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Milius%27_Pillar

Nicholas the Traveler is collecting them. His gifts can yield some rather nice loot.

I've seen prices as low as 600g per claw. As far as I can tell, the market is reflecting how easy it is to get the claws.
On that note, I farmed in a 6-man and in one run got 3 claws no sweat (everyone else got atleast 3 also, some got 5-6). Mind you, this was NM so you can imagine that prices are going to be low with how easy these are to grab.

Can you unlock it with faction and buy a tome? or do you not have NF at all?
