I just tried and they do attempt to run. Most wont escape from knockdowns or burning but sometimes graspings run away quite fast.
Great build though. it is a bit slower than the E/Me but a lot more fun with all the burning graphics ! thanks for sharing

hmm
what about the aatxes....and about MS, even though the 60s recharge is a pain, savanna heat stacks up its damage..

Actually the stone striker and mantra of earth is probably faster to cast considering stone striker is a 1/4 second cast and mantra of earth activates instantly. However, I can see how armor of earth can be helpful against coldfires.

E/Me is definately better than E/Mo... To counter running be sure to use Flame Djinns Haste in the chain, they never get away from me.
MS does make the run a little slower... I have to wait for recharge 1-2 times per run... But this build is safer, imho, than the SS build...

I prefer this build over E/Me since it is way safer. Yes it may be 1 or 2 minutes slower than the E/Me but no problem for me.

ill put up a vid later of the run , awesome build much safer than the E/Me and also they are dead before anything lol. and if u do miscast u do have the added protection of armour of earth

Hey darkslayer this is a really good build.
So i tried this with mantra of earth+Stone striker, i take 0 dmg ^^
And yeah this is a bit slower but less annoying. Its less annoying because the smites dont run away from you.

Well I ended up posting this build at Wiki. It got verified pretty fast but Im still geting mixed reviews with this build being alot slower then the Sandstorm build. This is true if you kill one group at a time but this build is designed for mass agro. I can take out the entire first room of smites in about 2-4 min. and the second chamber of smites in about 5 min.
I made videos of a non perfect fun that took about 15 min. I cut up the video in to 4 videos so I dont have to compress it to much and lose video quality.

Worked well for me once I got a bit of practise. Graspings can be a pain and sometimes the ataxes follow you down when your getting the quest but the running and killing the smites is pretty straightforward. Got 2 ectos so far with this.

This build works good, 10x better as an E/mes IMO. The only time waiting on meteor shower you should have is killing the squids if you take them in 2 groups. You shouldn't be wasting your time killing smites in 2-3 groups at a time, aggro all of them while weaseling through the CFN patrols.
Dumped the armor of earth, it's suicide using that trying to round up 20+ smites when a nightmare appears.
You can run the E/mo version without armor of earth as well, replace it with stone striker and use a shield with 10 vs earth damage and geomancers armor. No speed decrease and still -0 constantly.

Is there a ranged solution for Dying Nightmares? With the other build, Earthquake works pretty well at killing DN's before they can even rend. Aftershock is also good if a DN pops nearby. I can see FDH being usable, but only if the DN spawns very close.
Other than that, the build looks promising.

I use Savannah Heat wand combo for killing them ranged but if there close to me I just use Flame Djinn's Haste but useauly im allways ready for them to strip me. Cause I pay close atenchin to what im doing and if i have smites agroed and I see one pop up i wait for the split second my enchants get striped off and use Flame Djinn's Haste and get the hell out of there. That happened in my video actauly, Smite Chamber 2. Than come back and kill the Dying first and procede with the smites.
But you are right Earthquake is sweet for poping a drying. The best way to counter the Dyings that are with the Bladed Aatxe is to just be fast with pulling the Graspings. While takeing the quest just maintain Balthazar's Spirit and if a lose Dying pop up let him strip you then pull him away from the Aatxe a little and wand um. Now if a Dying pops up and some Aatxe start comeing just let him strip Balthazar's then use Flame Djinn's Haste to get away.

I really love this build. The only times I die are:
- Lag !
- aggro 2 groups of Grasping at once and somehow some of them just run away before I even cast FDH.How the hell can you keep your health up when having around less than 5 energy after that?
-Suicide instread of /resign to go back to ToA
