New Event Farm Areas
I was wondering were every one farms for there events to get the best out of if for this holloween period.
So far I'm doing Raptor Farming as a W/N and with the amazing fast 40second runs avgeraging about 5-10 tot bags per run im wondering if this is the best so far. Ive worked it out so that if I get 5-10 per run im getting a Little over 500-600 tot bags per hour.
Ive also tried the A/Me Chamber build with a modifications using arcane echo to maintain sf, on the first 25 snowmen in the Secret lair of the Snowmen. And while getting used to using arcane echo to maintain shadow form, ive only been able to get around 1-2 every run.
Im not shure if its just me here and others may think the same, but im guessing the faster you kill in guild wars the better your drops, For Example : You kill all 33+ raptors at the same time you end up with 6-10 tot bags, if a small group dies before the rest of the group you end up with 1-5. Might not make sense but when you W/N Raptor farm i think you know what i mean.
Oh well I would really like to know if anyone has a theroy on this, or like to input, would also like to knw where other people are farming for there tot bags, i really want to max out my sweet tooth, party animal and drunkard around this event.
PM In-game or Here.

If u get bored of raptor farming u can always try Gates of kryta if u have a monk.
About 5 ToT bags each run, Decayed orr emblems 1-5 each run + lots of golds.
If u farm 1 hour there i get about 50-60 ToT bags 25 Decayed orr emblems 8-10k gold.(After selling the junk u found) It's probably not so good as raptor farming but it's an option if u get bored of your old farming spot :P. Also there is a trick to trigger more foes to spawn before u go behind the house , but im sure you are aware of that since this is quite an ancient farming spot anyways.

lol, this belongs in the farming section. i remember a very detailed post a while back analyzing drop rates of events items depending on the speed of which you kill the mobs. prolly archived. i'll go searchy ;-)
EDIT: found it! posted last year. very interesting read

OP, would you (or any other W/N for that matter) be willing to do an experiment?
Empty all ToT bags out of your inventory, then farm for exactly 1 hr straight. See how many ToT bags you have at the end. I mean actual ToT bags in your inventory - not how many you think you might have had if only you hadn't stopped by the merchant, failed a run, spent time picking up drops at the end, looking for leechers etc.
Please be honest, because I am genuinely interested in your figures. Ideally, averages for several 1hr sessions.
I thought about running my Warrior to Rata Sum, but in the end I didn't think it was worth the bother and stuck with my Ele. I might still reconsider going W/N if I see some compelling figures.
By the way, I've leeched from W/N farmers with some of my other characters, and I never saw one take less than 70 seconds from the start of one run, to the start of the next. Maybe they were no good? Their drops seemed pretty rubbish too, but ToT bags weren't dropping at the time. Then again, if you're getting a lot of ToT bag drops, it will add a significant number of seconds to each run, picking them up at the end.
For comparison:
My Ele uses a hero (similar to W/N's hero), and takes 85-90 seconds per run - that's the time from zoning out at the start of one run, to zoning out at the start of the next run. Build and realtime video (proof of speed) is in this thread. Kills are one-at-a-time, but that's not so bad because you pick up items as they drop, instead of having to pick everything up at the end after everything goes boom.
I am getting 120-180 ToT bags in an hour - average is 150 per hour. I spend a couple of minutes at the merchant roughly every every 25-30 minutes, unloading items, dyes, scrolls. I get roughly 10-30 gold items per hour, and usually at least 6 gold scrolls. Items get ID'd while I'm running to the cave.
I could do more runs/hour if I only picked up the ToT bags and nothing else - because I wouldn't have to visit the merch. But I'm getting about 10K an hour from selling all the junk, which is handy.

OP estimate of runs and drop rates are a joke. The run does not take 40 seconds (nowhere flipping near) and you will not get 4-5 per run on average.
500-600 bags per hour? Bet you don't get 200.
It's sad the way people's farming exploits are shamelessly exagerated, it doesn't impress anyone and helps perpetuate silly myths and misconceptions.

Agreed. No where near 500 bags an hour. Thats like 100k an hour!!
I've tried minotaurs outside Ice tooth cave with a 330hp rit after getting bored with raptors and undead. But it is no where near as efficient.

I find average ToT drops to be 3-4 from raptors - sure, I've had a lot of runs with 9-12 as well, but average is still 3-4.
The run takes 40 seconds, sure - but another 10 seconds to loot, and another 15 seconds to /resign and zone in again.
Also, about 1 in 7 runs I see a chest. I always open it - takes another 20 seconds or so - just got an r9 saurian scythe with 20% ench!

Id say as sin ( tho im not doing more than say 5 runs a time ) im avg between 1 and 5 a run but im only doing it for fun mainly.
Luck plays a major part in it as well as how much you`ve farmed - ive had a weeks break from raptors an my first run yielded no golds/tomes but 10 totbags which did surprise me but it soon dropped by 2nd run to 2 totbags lol
Also we have to remember tho w/n may get what seems a lot of drops per hr - its made up of quite a few runs and is all added together so they may be runs where 2 bags are got an a few where say 7 drop.
I miss 2 halloweens ago where totbags dropped on almost every 3 kills an doing just gates of kryta could get anywhere between 15 - 20 bags a run ... then anet fixed it after lol

I have been farming feathers when not doing raptors or Gates of Kryta. I have averaged 60-80 bags an hour but then sell the feathers to by more bags. Maybe not the most efficient but it helps to break up the monotony of doing the other two. I was getting better TOT drops from my VWK warrior than I was my Sin and I think it was because of the kills didn't come as fast. Averaged 5 Bags a run with warrior. Average 4 bags with Sin but I have gotten better overall drops with the sin because I can kill the boss. This has been since the event started. My ele averages 5 bags in Gates of Kryta per run plus you get the bonus of the emblems. This is just over the last few days. The gates and feathers I do in NM as I seem to get better trophy drops in NM and I can do them faster over time so hence more drops total.
All farms have their own advantages/disadvantages I prefer to mix it up or else I go crazy.

I've been swapping between raptors with my Mesmer, and Undead farming and Jaya Bluffs with my Ritualist (I use 330 for the undead in HM and spirit spam for the birdies). On all three I've been averaging ~5 bags per run. Technically I guess raptors are the most efficient, time-wise, but I really hate raptor farming. The undead also drop emblems, and I get feathers from the birdies. So I mostly go with those two, while switching over to my Mesmer to kill raptors when I need a change.

500 ToTs mean 100 win, thats with an avarge match time ( 4-5min)
means 400-500 minutes , thats 6 hours not 1 hour.

Evidently claims of 800 tot bags per hour are just too much for the mods here to stomach, whereas 500-600 per hour claims are fine.
Nice quality control

just a couple of things for this guy first..
the costume brawl has been dealt with already by a certain person above,
and whats up with the 'trying -a- raptor farm and see what's up'? you evaluate farms by doing 1 run? gl finding a good farm.
and what has his join date and name has to do with it? your name contains mayhem so we cant trust you or something? and taking me serious would be rediculous because my name makes no sense at all..
try putting in some real input before saying stuff no one likes.
----------------------------------------------
furthermore, about the farming. i always try combining event farming with normal farming. as farming the chaos planes for example because alot more attractive when besides ectos you also get loads of tot bags. try doing that instead of doing a farm that takes 1 minute over and over again, makes you go mad alot less ^^
forgive my bad english..
