Better then Keg Farming?
Well after the recent Keg farming nerf most of you insane farmers are wondering, "Where can I get all my drop event items now?". However someone showed me a possible better farm that could be better then keg farming. I personally like it more and you get to brush the dust off those old warriors and put them to use.
Well where do you think this farm could be? Check out this video I made and take a look for yourself!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EtbPwAU7ns
Follow the video and you will regain your drops
Enjoy!
*Disclaimer*
I know that there are other raptor farming builds and I know warrior raptor is not something new. I am ask for your opinion on whether warrior raptor farming is better kegging or any other farming builds.

Raptor farming.....nothing new. Been doing it for quite some time.
I find the ele build to be quicker and more effective, considering it can kill the boss, than the other builds available.

THAN*
This build has been around for a while but I suck at using it for some reason. Keg farming was virtually risk-free and required little effort or concentration whereas this 100Blades build needs focus and timing rather than 1, 2, 3, spam kegs.
This will probably become the new event item farm however.

As I'm sure you know , during the past several event weekends for pies/ciders/cupcakes/apples/eggs/bunnies etc... I've spent over 17 hours a day farming both Raptors & Vaettir via. Hundred Blades for raptors and Perma Sin for kegging. (and I can guarantee you -- taking leechers does not increase your droprate of loot-scaled items -_-)
Although THEORETICALLY you actually kill more raptors than vaettir, I actually got more event item drops doing Keg Farming.
To put it into perspective; at top speeds
It takes about 55s to do a raptor farm which includes;- run to cave
- gather aggro
- wait for aggro to settle & kill (33 enemies)
- loot
- resign
- load into town
- run out, load into rata sum
Now with Vaettir, it took about (with a perfect build) 87s to do a full run, which again, includes;- Load into Jaga
- Aggro + Cast perma
- Ball everything (36 enemies) - Balling all 60 at the same time, or the other 24 after, no matter what, increases average kill time per enemy, no matter how you do it.
- Step + keg spam
- Loot
- Run to exit & load
- Turn around and load back into Jaga
So they are both a full cycle, no skewed results here.
So in the same amount of time, you are killing approximately .600 raptors every second, and .414 vaettir ever second.
It equates out to killing 45 raptors, but only 31 vaettir in 75seconds.
In my "experiment" doing keg-bombing actually gave me more (how is this possible?) event items by about 1.5x (2stack / 2hr from raptors vs 3stacks / 2hr from kegging)
It works out to about every 8.5 raptors drop an event item, and every 4 vaettir drop an event item.
tl;dr:
Although raptors SHOULD drop more event items, vaettir drop more than twice as many. If you can farm 36 vaettir in about 1:45 or less, do it.

-1 internets for believing that Raptor farming is something new. Also, I would wager that this build is more effective than yours.

-100 to IcyFiftyFive for farming 17hrs a day.
There is nothing to new any of the farming areas or ideas if you have been playing for the 4yrs that the game has been out.

Hey guys, I think he just won GW?
Just bbq...seriously have you never entered rata sum or been in the GW community since eotn? It isn't even that profitable, leeching with henchies definitely does not improve it either.

The Warrior build farms 32/33 guys in 55seconds, the Ele build farms 29-31+ the boss, 30-32 (which is pointless in the case of event items, as noted in the OP) in 1:25.
Maybe I'm missing something, but killing a couple more enemies in 2/3 the time sure seems more effective to me.

Raptors is the big thing again, after the kegging nerf (/fail Anet)
btw - Kegging was better imo. Funner too (yes, that's a word).

Raptors aren't anything new. At first when I saw the 90 seconds for a whole run, I thought that was hella slow since I could already do it in less than a minute. Then I noticed you actually kill every single raptor in the cave, something that I can't. Will give it a try and see if the extra 30-40 seconds pay off.
Btw can you tell us the number of raptors killed on average?

1) As other posters have noted, raptor farming isn't exactly new. It was the most common event item farm for the first year of EotN.
2) Raptor farming is slower than keg farming. IceFiftyFive is correct that it was faster to just kill the group of 36 but is incorrect about the speed. You could complete a full cycle in 60-75 seconds, depending on the number of drops. The trick was to take Shadow of Haste and Dwarven Stability on the bar, set up SoH near the res shrine after putting up SF, and cast the 2nd SF without using Swiftness or Paradox.

Damn, that's pr0, never thought about shadow of haste....
So yeah, again, Kegging was even FASTER than I calculated (about 1.7-1.8x faster than raptors)
Wish I had known about the shadow of haste thing... damn...

It's not 90 seconds, it's about 45-65s depending on how fast you are (including zoning and looting and whatnot)
He kills every raptor but the boss in the cave, maybe skipping a raptor every now and again if it's too far out of aggro range. (33 and the occasional 32)

I still find the best ways to farm Terra Tank and 55 or 600 monking. Why? Because there are many, not just 1 or 2, places where you can put it to use. All you need is maybe replace a skill in the build every now and then.

Solo snowman dungeon HM is as good as raptors for event items. Do it with a perma sin with sliver+radiation field
