Ever since the Shadow Form/Holy Warth nerf, a lot of items have skyrocketed in price. In particular, the Diessa of Chalice is now around 5k-9k (making getting the Blindfold around 250k-450k, probably the most expensive headpiece now. A long time ago, I used to get the blindfold for only 50k-100k for my elementalist). I want to get the Blindfold for my Dervish character, but since Diessa Chalices are now expensive, I now have to think up of a farming build for them.

Since Holy Wrath is nerfed, the 600 smite build is out of the question (not to mention, my monk is a PvP monk. And it is not worth it to delete the monk and create a PvE monk just for farming purposes, which I used the same logic on the issue of deleting my PvP warrior for PvE warrior just for W/N raptor farming). The perma-SF is also out of the question because all physical attacks can now hit you in Shadow Form, thus making SF farming builds to be useless.

Going through all the situations and the skills the mobs use (skills that deal double damage against summoned creatures, interrupts, enchantment removal), I come to the conclusion that there isn't an effective build to farm Diessa Chalices now other than the Two man spirit farmer. But even so, the build isn't effective against the crypt slashers (as they have an attack skill that can rape the spirits). However, if I were to replace Shadowsong with Black Powder Mine or Rupture Soul, then I think the Crypt Slashers wouldn't be a problem.

Oh yeah, and I want to do this in Hard Mode and solo (or at least no more than one hero). Since Diessa Chalices are scaled based on how many people are in your party like most items (Diessa Chalices are white collectible items instead of gold items, thus meaning less people means higher chances of dropping. So I'm guessing it is rarer than Globs of Ectoplasm).

Of course, Spirit spamming isn't always an effective farming build. It is highly useless against foes who can deal AoE damage.

I nearly out of ideas. It is clear that ArenaNet is strongly against solo farming and dungeon speed clears. Anyways, any ideas?

Would the 2 man MONK Bonder Hero's build work for this? You can hit yourself with 8 maintainable enchants and then have Dwana's Kiss heal you for like 800 health by micro managing you 2 hero's out of the agro of the others.
so flag your hereo's and then just wonder in there with Roj and Pain INvereter?

That works fairly well, but i brought two bonders, the second with VB/LA/Heals and brought BuH and LoD to speed things up.

It as a touch slower than the old VwK/Smite, but it worked ok for sure.

is the drop rate in normal mode for chalices not the same?
for ectos its the same

Actually, I'm beginning to have an idea from this thread for an elementalist build to farm Diessa Chalices (see the third and fourth picture, although it obviously does not involve a second monk hero and the Mantra of Earth will be replaced with Mantra of Resolve).

This is where you are wrong here. Since Diessa Chalice is a non-rare white collectable, the chances of you getting this item will increase if you do it in HM and have less people in your team.

searching on guru, I'm seeing between 2-3k. Don't get me wrong, I have quite a few I'd like to sell and the higher the better, but I have not seen prices that high.

btw, just tried the above mentioned duo build on the 1st level and went fine, if a little slow.
