has to be istan for following reasons - only istan will have low req daggers that are insc ( eotn will be much higher req like 7 upwards and cantha items cannot be insc ).
Ive no idea what the changes are for getting a req 3 dagger in istan is and id summise you`d have to be in plains of jarin , zehlon reach of cliffs of dohjak as they are fairly low foe lvl areas.Higher the foes lvl ( like black tide den and the last 2 istan areas ) may yield higher req.
Happy hunting and good luck

Thanks for the help.
I am using a mo/a build with 16 smite and 12 deadly arts, and I want to use the remaining 3 for dagger mastery for some auto attack goodness.
I'm thinking a max req 3 might do more damage than max daggers

Wands also work at melee range.
Anyway my points is; you're wasting your time trying to find req 3 daggers. I dont think deadly arts require you to wield daggers anyway (except maybe that 1 vampiric dual attack thing)

Just to make it easier for all of us can you give us your build etc - we are all confused :S.
With a build we can work out exactly what your doing and what you need.
And yes as said already casters make a serious bad frontliner and if your a healer monk ( which your not ) your going to spend more time healing yourself but in your case the monks going to be healing you a lot and will probably hate you after .
Sadly in gw if your a monk then a lot of the time you will be a backliner giving support thru either bonds or enchants - monks make bad melee due to ar 60 and are very squishy and may end up being the most healed person in team and requiring the most energy to keep alive which then affects the actual teams healer by being an energy drain thus meaning those who do need urgent healing may have to wait for monks energy to recharge.

I agree with this. First of all, this is the Farming subforum -- chances are he's not planning to PUG with this build. If he's soloing, he is the frontline. The dude's been registered here since 2006; I'm guessing he knows what he's doing by now.
(At least I hope so. I have a friend who's been playing since beta and he still runs around like a noob, trying crazy builds and, yes, running daggers on a monk in a group. *sigh*)
As for the question, yeah, Istan. Probably the end of Mehtani Keys, where all the Corsairs are. I was out there recently for some quests and, IIRC, I had that type of stuff drop.

This may sound like an odd idea...but...raptor nestlings in normal mode. Easy to farm until you get one and there tightly packed together so you save time running from group to group trying to get a drop. Low enough level that they can still drop that low req stuff.

Lol, stop telling him to wand shit, if he wants to go LEERROOOOY on his Mo/A and use r3 daggers to kill shit, I'm saying he's a f*cking genious and he should be praised for his ludicrous idea... There should be more ideas like this just to make things fun again...
But yeah, Istan because the lowest green daggers have r5..
I say, go chestrun in Istan or something, good for the lucky title, and there should be some in the first chests.. Like plains of Jarin or something..
I say: Go for it my man! If you want to be the first monk to attack shit with r3 daggers on you, GO FOR IT! You've kind of made my day I'm glad to see that people still have ideas like this ^^
EDIT: Oh, and last time I checked, Assassins have 60 AR too, so...
EDIT EDIT: someone already pointed this out, but DURR, ofcourse they are 70 xD my bad, wasn't thinking straight

I don't think daggers drop from any istan mobs, I haven't gotten any.
You could try the Istani chests, but those only give purples.

I think you try and look if some players have them aswell, but indeed, Istan chests would be best.
Max dagger weapons (not green/collector/crafter) will deal 4-9 dmg I think, where the maximum possible for req3 daggers is probably around 5-10 dmg (no screen that proved the max for INSCR. req9 daggers is 5-10, but for uninscripable ones it is) . Assuming your build doesn't really count on the dmg done by the daggers, I would not bother looking for r3 dmg daggers as IF (and the small on that is pretty small) you manage to find a 5-10 dmg pair you would only do about 1 dmg more, of which I doubt it will really make a difference. But ofcourse its up to you
Perhabs a note: I have never seen any prove of req3 inscripable 5-10 (or any other amount of daggers for that matter) daggers drop.
