once your pass the bridge, the chest will spawn, if it doesnt then resign cause it won't even if the plagueborns pop out
DS + dash is great cuts off 10 seconds atleast each run

I got a question about chest running...I began doing massive chest running in HM in Cantha. Mainly in Shadow Passage, Drazach Ticket, Pongmei Vallet, The undercity and Sunjiang District. Always HM.
I do this mainly for titles, but also in the hope of getting some nice weapons...I noticed that since the first times drop rate of golds has dropped heavily. Do u think that running the same chests for hours will lower the chance of gold drops?
In Shadow Passage and Undercity it's like 10 times that locked chests drop purple items....and often purple armors.
I know they count for treasure hunter title, but i'd also like some decent drops.
Any suggestion?
And also: I read somewhere in Guru that maybe downloading a new DAT file may give you better drops in farming certain spots like for example farming "Dragon Moss" in Drazach Ticket.....(hope u understood this)

I get the same feeling, especially with farming but I think the reason for that is obvious. I think with chests though, the law of large numbers will ring true over time. You are probably having a spate of bad luck. Maybe try switching chestrunning areas after 50 chests or so, and see if that helps. Lord knows it will at least mitigate the boredom creep, it does for me anyway. It seems we always remember the bad runs, strings of bad chest drops, and overall bad experiences much more than we remember the good ones. There have been times chestrunning where I've had consecutive golds and elite tome drops, but they are soon forgotten whereas my strings of grape and normal tome drops are often the topic of complaint threads! Although my bad luck with broken lockpicks never changes...probably my fault for spending so many afk weekends on the cheap rings, lol.

Unlucky had nothing to do with retain chanced lol, but I think you meant it symbolically anyway :P
And, no, farming the same area over and over should not have any effect on your drops. All that can happen is bad luck, but that's all. You are certainly not the only on farming the area's, and imagine back when this game was popular, thousands of people were doing it at the same time, so they calced that in I think. You'd have to be running the same area thousands of times consistently before you should feel anything. Or at least a couple hundred times..
You can indeed change area's to counter boredom but that's all.
If you want good drops from all of cantha, Pongmei is the best choice, the only awesome weapons you can't get there are Outcast (sorry, they will always be my favorite^^), but all the neat Echovald skins, Paper Fans, Bo Staffs, Plagueborn etc should drop there.. I think even Platinum stuff.
If it's speed you want, I still think my Silent Surf run is one of the fastest (5 Chests, 3 minutes). There are loads of maps on here, and I think a lot of us can give you good advise (Superraptors, Pleikki, Carnage etc are very experienced runners)

Actually with farming I'm pretty sure that after a 50 times you farm the same spot the chance of good drops is really lower than the first times...I noticed in farming Dragon Moss, Mantids, the Wardens in Drazach Ticket, some bosses..and i don't use superfast builds.
For chests: Pongmei Valley never had a plagueborn (not even at Sunjian district portal), never an echovald, never a paper fan or others rare skins.
Undercity: always 2 chests near Afflicted groups but 9/10 are armors..
Am i particulalry unlucky or should i stop running this spots for a while?

I generally run around 20-30 chests at one spot then switch to another area (only cantha though). Keeps the runs fun and entertaining and it's nice to see some variety in the drops. A normal go would look something like this:
1. Pongmei Valley
2. Boreas Seabed
3. Shadow's Passage
4. Melandru's Hope
5. Bukdek Byway
100-150 chests done and after that I'm hitting RA or do some mission runs ^.^

Yes, but for the farming thing, they deliberately made that to prevent mass farming, to my knowledge, they didn't do anything major to prevent mass chest running, and since doing 100+ chests in a row is mental torture, and is practically impossible to do, I don't think it has any effect at all.
You can swap between areas if you want, but won't have a very large effect..
Also, yes, plagueborn chests drop 90% armors, which is fcking frustrating if you're hunting for a +5e sword -.-

totally agree, it's frustrating to look for good drops while chest running, all req 9 i found were common skins, only had req 11 Plagueborn Daggers +15,-5nrg...some purple staves...
But i don't agree with mental torture of chest-running, it's one of the funniest things i do in GW. Chest running in hard areas is a challenge and you can have fun beating stupids mobs with some tricks.
You learn soooo many things about foes AI and their usage of skills that is almost easy to prevent them from using a certain skill
Anyway: if someone wanna join me i wanna try a dual run HM in Sorrow's Furnance.
PM me if interested at: I Feeding Frenzy I

Might pm you some time when I get my ssin to SF^^ But with my finals and shit, it won't be for now..
What I am looking for is a build and guide to run Napui Quarter HM for chests, because I am hunting for a Celestial Scepter, with any req, and may even be singlemod with +15/-1.. And i've had loads of singlemod wands before, chestrunning other places with a +15/-1, so might find what I'm looking for, but seriously, all the runs I've tried so far, I got ganked before I got in far enough.. And those motherf*ckers won't break aggro in HM, even with a 5,25s Dash...
Also, @ Tender, I enjoy it too, but too much can just be.. Too much :P
A lovely skill for chestrunning is Shadow of Haste btw^^ It works swimmingly to troll the shit out of mobs :P Cast far away from your mob, run in, open chest, pick drop, stance out, gg^^ Use it all the time :P

Found a nice way to easy chest run in Rhea's Crater: exit Aurios Mines or Seafarer's Rest and die at first group without activating any res shrine (i don't know if Luxons laready have it active or not, i do not ). If res shrine wasn't active you'll be ressed in the middle of the map and 1/2 there's a chest right were some groups of Outcasts. Then if u want u can just enter the door on the right and run...1 minute and there's another chest, easy to run even with a paragon in HM!

Ace, works like a charm.. first run Q9 15^50 jade sword (lovely skin)
Edit: I suggest starting from seafarers rest, there's a group of afflicted really close to the portal. 40 second runs ftw

Ok, this is what I'm using now.. I'm not max delver, but working on that now, so that I can keep Dark up 100%..
OwBR8ZC3pBimUn5u8AKNbFE
Equipment: -2^ench or -2^stance shield with +30/+45hp mod and a +5e 20% ench axe/sword/spear, full Blessed insignia's Shadow 12+3+1.
Once I figure this out and can do perfect runs consistently, I'll make a guide.
Sorry for the strange skill order, normally I use totally different orders, but for some reason, when chest running, it's all different, but I'm used to this
Practice this first I'd say.. Even in NM, this is a pretty tough run.. HM is very hard, getting to your second chest should be considered an accomplishment

I use insignias vs piercing dmg since bows attacks are the most dmg in Naphui Quarter mission......
@edit: actuall it should be the only physical dmg you take since you're running

Ok, I started thinking a bit, and came to the conclusion that I barely use Shadow form when running, since I don't need spell protection anyway, because I just ignore the bosses and try not to agro them.. So, I started thinking of a suiting replacement, and this is what I came up with:
OwNS84PT0kHQDE3lNQpZrg4O
With this build, it is almost a walk in the park honestly.. Ok, it's still not very easy, but a LOT easier tbh.. I'm also thinking of replacing Feigned Neutrality with Heart of Shadow, because it's a pretty strong heal, and Feigned has the annoying downside of ending when you use a skill.. Which can make it hard to time.
The build can be hard on energy though, so don't spam too much, and you should be able to make a nice tour around Naphui^^

Bright, I think you're better off running Xaquang Skyway for celestial drops. It's incredibly easy(almost impossible to die) and the chest:time ratio is pretty good.
(Just fyi, I've had quite a few +15/-1 cele wands from there, mostly single mod though. )

Yeah, tried that, but the damn Vermins always seem to find a way to bodyblock me and completely gank me.. Even if I HoS out, the passages are pretty narrow, but I'll give that one a couple more tries too..
And, next time you get one of those wands, sell me pl0x^^

Hmm...I think you'll just have to get used to it. And yeah, sure, I'll give you one of those wands if I get one.
This is the build I generally use.
