Question Question? Hammer KD Build!

Okay guys...
I'm not new to the game or to the profession. My orignal warrior is my sword warrior and my runner and of coarse, tyrian born. Then with the release of factions I created a second warrior since I simply love the profession and the action involved. My second warrior is my axe warrior and my favorite character so far. But seeing I have enough gold to make me happy, all my characters have the armor and weapons I want them to have... I deceided its time for a new character so I deleted my ranger to, thats right, make a third warrior. This time a sexy warrior princess, and yes I figured its time to attack the third line of weapons.... HAMMERS. I know typically KD builds are primarly a pvp build... but would it still work for me until I beat the game. The build would use the generic pvp hammer knockdown combo....

1 Devastating Hammer{e}
2 Mighty Blow
3 Heavy Blow
4 Aftershock

Please leave your comments and feedback!

Please do not leave comments stating I should run a sword or axe build because I already have characters for that. Thanks

Try this instead man.

(1. Devastating Hammer
(2.Crushing Blow
(3.Fierce Blow
(4.Heavy Blow

Two kd's dw, and high damage attacks.

I would certainly agree with crushing blow over aftershock. The deep wound is much more useful. Obviously, don't forget your Stonefist Gauntlets with Dev. Hammer (which I prefer to backbreaker). I used Dev., crushing, heavy, and then switched in belly smash (for the blind, as well as the fact that it
attacks more like an interrupt - taking about half the time of a normal hammer attack). I also always include disrupting blow (the unlinked one) on all my warrior builds, and I think irresistable blow is pretty standard for any hammer warrior.

So, what I used to run:
For Great Justice
Troll ungent
disr. blow
irres. blow
Dev. Hammer {E}
crushing blow
heavy blow
Res. or belly smash or mighty blow, depending on my confidence in my party.

I wholeheartedly believe a hammer warrior can hold his/her own in pvp or pve. Ive grown to like the hammer over time, I just love the damage it can dish out. You can even edit it for pve to put something like watch yourself in.

yea...
but i'm going hammer mastery, strength, and Earth Magic...

So maybe some armor buff like armor of earth or something like ward against melee. Could always rock dolyak sig but I hate not being able to walk... just crawl....

good stuff guys

Watch yourself is better than Dolyak's, it's just 4 adrenaline so you can keep it up constantly.

With Armor of Earth you would be more of a tank but less mobile and less dps, your choice. I prefer to stick with Warrior only skills except for Plague Touch to avoid blindness and weakness.

Hm heres a build I might give a try in PvE sometime.

Hammer Mastery - 16 (or 14 with no superior)
Tactics - 12 (or 11 tactics if you want to run Tiger Stance)
Strength - 9 (if your running Tiger Stance)

Devestating Hammer {E}
Crushing Blow
Fierce Blow
Watch Yourself!
Bonneti's Defense (can be swapped for Tiger Stance if your running 11/9 tactics/strength split or if you prefer Plague Touch)
To The Limit!
Healing Signet
Res Signet (or a hard res)

I'm going to play around with hammers more in PvE a bit and see if Earthshaker might be of some use.

Basically hammer builds in PvE will almost be the same as hammer builds for PvP. This is the setup I run.

Hammer Mastery: 16
Tactics: 9
Strength: 12

Devastating Hammer [E]
Crushing Blow
Hammer Bash
Irrestistable Blow
Tiger Stance/Frenzy
Rush
Healing Signet
Rez Sig

Irresistable Blow is really the free slot here since it's the least necesary skill. If you prefer a more defensive character you can swap it out for Watch Yourself, Endure Pain, Shields Up, or To the Limit.

I'm a strong advocate for Hammer Bash over Heavy Blow. If you happen to kill your target before using it, you're left with a useless fully charged adrenal skill. With Hammer Bash you can start your assault on the second target with a knockdown and quickly follow that up with crushing blow and irresistable blow.

The great thing about hammer is that you can run with almost any attack skill combo because both Backbreaker and Devastating Hammer are awesome elites that allow you to do different things. WIth a 4 second KD from backbreaker you have plenty of time to pull off a KD+Crushing Blow+Aftershock/Holy Strike combo. You can even just run around spamming Earthshaker and Aftershock for some nice damage. With hammers the options are much more varied since you are not forced to bring Eviscerate or run the old Sever Art+Gash+Final Thrust combo.

there was some guy running an aftershock and ride the lightning build with hammer dont remember exact skills tho but it was for PvE so just work those in and try it out

go with high hammer
Str
earth

dont worry about points in air (unless needed for ride the lightning to work) b/c its just to track down the opponent if u get crippled, KD, or they run from u then snare and wack away

I'll wrk on a build and post it on here later if you want was thinkin bout doin it anyway

Aftershock pretty much sucks on a Hammer warrior, you drain yourself of 15 energy in that one combo and leave yourself open for like a second after using Aftershock due to it's huge aftercast.

Why waste your DW opportunity with an earth damage like aftershock?

NVM, I found that the hammer builds were too slow

Yea KD builds are effective, but for myself I like my sword and axe warriors better!

I made a Meleemancer instead... now thats faced paced on your toes/ in your face non-stop action... love it

thanks for all the input

ohhh and aftershock is 10 energy not 15, it is a good build but you have to like it and make it your own to be effective

I'd say one other problem is that when you join groups in later missions ppl will ask if you use a sword or axe. When you say hammer you're probably gonna get kicked no matter how good your build is.
