if your gonna use a bow go r/ if your gonna solo, w/, too be honest, all people use r/w for is the bunny thumper build mainly for the most part:http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Bunny_Thumper, the bunny thumper cant solo much, if your gonna solo anything with ranger i would advice fow forest: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=143379 which takes a r/me, but warrior still can solo more areas then any other profession, you can go ahead and name one area a profession can solo, and i bet you 10 bucks a warrior has been through there, if you dont believe me, compare number of warrior farming builds to ranger, or in fact to any profession:

war will have more soloable areas and bosses, warriors have always been the masters at soloing, and ranger comes no where close to soloing like a war has
i wouldn really base the two professions down to only ranger or warrior secondary, that only limits your playing capabilities of a certain character, remember you can always go to senji's corner and change secondary professions, at a mere 500gp per new learned secondary profession, and free if you pick that profession secondary again

Warrior is better in solo-ing, but Rangers are more flexible.
Better runners, more conditions, pet

Play a ranger if you want to get better at the game, teaches you about positioning and picking targets.
