I know how you feel. Ive had 5 of my builds unfavoured and 2 deleted, the only "succesful" one, was the page i wrote but the build isnt even mine. People must like it cuz of he movie and it "proves" it works. Which reminds me I should change the terra tank to a smite only variant, people arent likig the 10 min extra of killing the aatxes.

Which is an example of how builds can be better. In all 7 of my builds on wiki, ive learned from them. My first 2 I got so mad when people unfavoured them. Their comments didnt make sense to me at all. But after time, I realized why they were unfavoured (and not just because of the reasons they stated, because some of them are VERY bland) over half of my builds were like this one, either tanking, or farming places that the primary profession didnt normally do. I complained that they worked, and indeed they did, but the problem was that I didnt see there were better builds from OTHER primary professions and I couldnt get past the [skill=icon]Rush[/skill]
in adrenaline from seeing so much synergy. The truth is, sometimes simple builds are the best. Things get too complicated and conditional and the build then becomes fragile.

(im no paragon) but from reading all of the stuff here and on wiki, Id say it works very nicely tanking in PvE, but useless un PvP, you arent going to get 6
members of the team burning constantly. (unless you Flamway, but that has too many weaknesses) In PvP, IMHO paras are better for backline stuff. Which brings me to the reason i came here and why i am[skill=icon]Resurrect[/skill]ing this thread. I just happened to be developing a HA build and came across [skill=icon]Angelic Bond[/skill]. I thought "oh cool" but I have no room in my build for a para. I just need to talk to a para that has it and uses it in PvP (if its any good there). It looks good as its a skill not enchant. I just posted my request here because the title looked interesting and I had other stuff to say. Just PM me or give me an IM adress if you can help me. Thank You

When HA builds actually bother to bring paras, that skill is pretty common. If for no other reason than it's awesome on your ghostly.

I'd go with what Racthoh says about Finale of Restoration, and put 9 into Motivation, but I'd also drop Axe to 11 (only losing 2 damage from Triple Chop), then pump the remainder back in to Command to bump GFTE to a 45% chance at Command 5.
Hell, I'd be tempted to go even further and drop Axe to 9, which with your current rune spread would look something like this:
Leadership 14
Axe 9
Command 9
Motivation 9

That way you get the best of both Finale of Restoration and "GFTE!".

The only reason that *I'm* not doing this at the moment is because my General currently has a req 11 axe

Very nice build though, and an interesting change from how I usually run the General.

Very nice build.

A few thoughts that I admittedly havent had a chance to test out yet:

Replacing Anthem of Flame with Stand Your Ground might bring more benefit to the team and yourself. If there are only say, two other people on your team using attack skills, and they very well may be after the same target, you wont be loosing that much burning.

What about going scythe instead of axe? Every attack could net yet 3 adrenaline, and with Natural Temper or Focused Anger you could concievably have GFTE charged after nearly every strike. On top of that you'd have one or two slots left for scythe attacks to add onto the damage and maybe throw on another condition.

If anyone has a chance to try the scythe I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I am jazzed to give this build a go. Thanks for making me realize how badly I'd been using ToF!

Eremite's Attack and Reap Impurities might be a couple of good skills to try out with the scythe in this build. However, using a scythe you do lose the extra armour that a shield affords.

Just tried this build out and it worked amazingly well on most things, then I got to the mission where the temple is overrun and you have to defend the altar, plus kill out 3 groups and reclaim the rifts. Tried it with henchies and got owned, thinking I"ll have to redesign for a support role of some sort before I can get it to work or redevise my strategy. Course if I just did it with players it might work since one group could defend the altar, while the other 4 took out a corner.

I am looking at using this build, and I am trying to put my armor together in such a way that I can use another build I like, as well as this one, with minimal armor switching.

I already have Centurion Insignias on my armor, and I was wondering if radiant insignias are really necessary. They are a little pricey. Any ideas?

The build looks cool btw. Can't wait to try it out with Zhed running the searing flames build.

I run this build on my paragon with Centurion armor and Wing's Axe (Zealous axe) mostly because it's what I had and it's an easy way to get your energy back up to start spamming echoes and shouts after the initial cost of Aggressive Refrain. Out in that area where skills cost 40% more energy, I just switched to a +5 energy spear and was able to use Aggressive Refrain.

Sweet build Zinger....I was having a hard time capping cruel spear, and this build me through there like a hot knife through butter. Some energy issues I have to tinker with, but other than that...great. ( I really need a zealous axe mod). Thanks! btw...I made a nice paragon runner build that got me from lions to sanctum, ran the whole desert, and ran back to ascalon, and got paid 4k while doing it so it worked well. (not sure about droks though...

Going to try and tank my way out of one starter room in The Deep, if this build can do this I'll buy the better then a warrior statement.

If it can't it's just a party buff build that is very effective, but cannot replace a warrior when it really matters.

Calculation in advance isn't going well, using armor buffs my war gets hit for 1s, 2s and 3s, without armor buffs I think it was around 30-40, which reduced by 49% is still more then I would if I went armor buff.

I have a Paragon and one indication that this is a good build is the fact that I came up with a nearly identical build independently after playing through all of Elona.

I am using:
10+1+3 Leadership
11+1 Command
10 Axe Mastery

Together with Centurion's Insignia (armor +10 while affected by a shout, echo or chant, which is always) and a max Command Shield, my Paragon has a total of 106 armor.

My skill build:
1. Triple Chop
2. Dismember
3. Anthem of Flame
4. Go for the Eyes!
5. They're on Fire!
6. Blazing Finale
7. Aggressive Refrain
8. Signet of Return

One misconception, I suppose, is that spamming Triple Chop will cause your Paragon to run out of energy, but I've found that one Triple Chop tends to instantly charge Go for the Eyes!, netting back any energy loss. Keep in mind that I play this myself, not using General Morgahn, so presumably I use the skill more tactically than he does. I have tried it on General Morgahn before, but I've found that he has some issues with Aggressive Refrain, as he begins with Aggressive Refrain and immediately begins spamming Triple Chop instead of putting up They're on Fire or Blazing Finale. The Go for the Eyes/Anthem of Flame engine eventually nets him enough energy put up those skills, but it bothers me that he does it in the wrong order.

I haven't tested it, but I always assumed that Triple Chop + Anthem of Flame didn't work (Barrage + Anthem of Flame doesn't work and I have tested that). Nonetheless, Anthem of Flame is +2 energy and does cause at least one target to burn (not to mention that it has the same recharge as Triple Chop, so they always go together).

Heh.. sometimes I swap out Signet of Return for Fall Back! when I'm playing by myself in the easier areas of the game (I too lazy to bother with rezzing henchies/heroes and they rarely die in say, Kourna or Vabbi).

I always bring a Searing Flames elementalist (sometimes two). Searing Flames is broken. =)

Did not go to the deep, but did try it out on some of the harder missions and have to admit the build works great. My Hero used it to almost perfection

But do not overestimate the absorbtion "They're on fire" gives, indirect and life-stealing is not reduced I think.

Arena Net usually makes their skills "make logical sense". How does saying, "they're on fire" reduce damage? Watch yourself I understand, you are more aware of your suroundings and so you can block attacks better shields up i do too....but "they're on fire"?

If your armor was on fire in the heat of battle, would you notice it immediatly? Then when someone pointed it out you'd probably go to trying to put out the flames.

It was originally called, "One good burn deserves another" so "They're on fire" is a vast improvement.

Maybe something like, "Watch the Flamers" or "Stoke this fire" or "Burn Baby Burn" or "We Mastered Fire" or "Don't Fear the Inflamed" or "They're on Fire, We're Like Water" woulda worked better.
