Using the vermin solo farming build for PvE game play is ill advised, since it was created for one purpose...and vermin aren't really anywhere else to be found. So, with a few modifications, you can create a more versatile axe warrior.

Keep Cyclone axe and Triple chop. These will be your main attacks. If you want to use healing from the monk class, either keep vigorous spirit or switch to protection prayers for reversal of fortune. A cheap spell that's easily spammable. Since you're using strength, I recommend using endure pain for increased survivability. You may also wish to use signet of strength...works good with cyclone axe spell. Anyway, here are a few ideas for builds:

1. Triple Chop
2. Cyclone Axe
3. Dismember
4. Disrupting Chop
5. Reversal of Fortune
6. Endure Pain
7. Sprint
8. Rebirth or Resurrection Signet

Pool the most attributes into axe mastery, keep strength at its second highest, and use whatever is left for protection prayers. Use disrupting chop against long casting spells. You might want to replace it with wild blow to end stances instead, if you can spare the extra 5 energy. Rebirth is a perfect resurrection skill since you'll have points in protection prayers.

1. Triple Chop
2. Cyclone Axe
3. Healing Signet
4. "Watch Yourself!"
5. Dismember
6. Executioner's Strike
7. Bonetti's Defense
8. Resurrection Signet

This build uses nothing but pure warrior skills. The concept behind this is that the two AoE attack choices will provide enough adrenaline to power bonetti's defense so you can gain back the energy you lose from spamming these quickly recharging skills. Watch yourself! is a useful party support shout, capable of giving +21 armor at 12 tactics.

These are some basic ideas, let me know what you think of them.

For a good sword build in PvE try this:

Dragon Slash {E}
Sun and Moon Slash
Galrath Slash
Silverwing Slash
"Watch Yourself"
Flail
Heal Sig
Rez Sig

Sk8tborderx' build is good, but I'd sub out either Galrath or Silverwing Slash for Standing Slash.
Same damage (well, 1 lower), less adrenaline.
Yes, it's conditional on you being in a stance, but you should be in Flail as much as possible with this build.
