Default New Warrior/please help/plz read

Hello

I have only being playing guild wars for a short period of time so i am obviously no expert at the game. My first character i have created is W/Mo, which after reading about in other threads seems to be a very controversial class. From reading endless threads it seems everyone has different ideas and views on what sort of build is the best, most effective, etc. Unfortunately I thought reading through all of them would help me in choosing how i would like to set up my character. But because of all the information thrown at me, i am not to much closer to choosing how to set my character up or even if i should use him.

Anyway, i have a few question about my W/Mo and im curious to what you guys/girls think i should do.

To start i own both prophecies and faction, and my character is a propheciess one. Im currently level 20 and are not sure what direction to head in. At the moment i use a hammer but from what i have read most people say you should use a sword or axe. Im just so used to the high damage caused by a hammer so it is going to be hard to let go. (i think i can hit around 120-130 max in pvp)

So i have decided to go with the sword over the axe. My attribute allocation was going to be something like:
14 swordsmanship (+1 hat +1 minor)
10 strength (+1 minor)
10 tactics (+1 minor)

I am not sure if i should use superior rune for swordsmanship as many say they do as it cost a whole 75hp!(plz tell me what you think).

I have never used tactics before but i have descided to put points on it so i can use healing signet as i have read that i shouldn't even bother using monk healing skills(healing breeze, etc) and that i should just use skill which heal condition, rez, etc. And that i should just try being as offensive as possible(please comment on attribute point allocation, be honest)

For armour at the moment I just have kurzick armour with the standard 80AL
+20 physical. Originally i was going to have 13 strength so i could put the insignia that gives me +20 against elemental damage, but have given up on that idea as i won't have 13 strength anymore. (suggest insignia plz, i was thinking using +10 against elemental on all pieces) Concerning runes i have one superior health (41) and then will probably have the minor rune +1 str +1 tactics +1 swordsmanship.

Thankyou for reading my long post and any help or suggestion on attribute, armour, skills or anything will be much appreciated.

It seems you're doing just fine.
Attributes are OK. You can use a sup weapon mastery for PvE, it's up to you...
About insignae, +10AL under a stance or + health are solid.

You didn't post your builds, if you want comments maybe you should.
Anyway things you should always have in your build as a warrior:
an IAS (increased attack speed)
a running stance
a deepwound
a rez.

Insignia - Brawlers gives you a free 10AL vs. both physical and elemental. If you can't meet the requirement, you're doing something really, really wrong.

Attributes - Should be something like;

Weapon Mastery/Strength: 16/13
Weapon Mastery/Tactics/Strength: 16/11/9

Skillwise, here's how things should be as a Warrior;

Elite Attack
Attack
Attack
Attack/passive damage skill ([skill=text]Conjure Flame[/skill], [skill=text]"Go for the Eyes!"[/skill] - stuff like that)
IAS
[skill=text]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill]/selfheal
<spare slot> [skill=text]Mending Touch[/skill] or [skill=text]Enraging Charge[/skill] is recommended
Rez

Example:

[card]Triple Chop[/card][card]Executioner's Strike[/card][card]Dismember[/card][card]"Go for the Eyes!"[/card][card]Flail[/card][card]Enraging Charge[/card][card]"Watch Yourself!"[/card][card]Signet of Return[/card]

Weapon Mastery/Strength/Tactics/Command: 16/9/9/7
Swap Signet of Return for Resurrection Signet if you'd rather a better mid-battle rez then a hard one.

If I read correctly, you're going to be equipping 2 Vigor runes... Alas, it dunt not work li3k that. You can only gain the effects of one vigor rune at a time, meaning that the minor vigor would be wasted.

If you still want more health... You can use a Vitae rune.
Or... Clarity (reduce weakness & blind) or Restoration (cripple) are good too, as these 3 conditions hurt the warrior most.

Build-wise... You have a sword, and you have Factions. Go figure.

Thx for help guys

So from what you said is it worth using a superior rune on weapon mastery even though you lose 75 health?

Thx again

For PvE? Yeah, go for it. PvE's not so tough for warriors that it matters much. And slightly bigger damage numbers are fun.

Personally I would go axe since you have access to [skill]Eviscerate[/skill and [skill]Cleave[/skill] which are both solid elites. That said you don't have power utility skills from Nightfall (such as Enraging charge and Flail) but a Dslash build doesn't really need it since you just pack your skill bar with big sword attacks

Having played my war for almost 2 years now, I'd definately go axe over sword, especially in Prophecies, as there are no decent sword elites, Eviscerate/Cleave > Hundred Blades. I'd also always use a superior rune in my weapon attribute tho, pve or pvp.
Healing prayers are generally awful on a warrior... Healing signet is often enough, especially in pve when u can get hold of monks fairly easily.
If you are set on using a sword, Quivering Blade is easy to cap, and fairly close to the start of Factions. The quick recharge is nice for pve, although for sword in pvp you'd really need to use Dragon Slash with an absence of the NF elites
