Paragon's a decent enough secondary proffession.
There's Remedy Signet to take care of conditions [skill]remedy signet[/skill]
Enduring Harmony works quite well in conjuction with For Great Justice! [skill]enduring harmony[/skill][skill]"for great justice!"[/skill]
The Command shouts "Go For The Eyes!" and "Find Their Weakness!" are workable on a warrior, providing damage buffs to a physical-heavy team [skill]"Go For The Eyes!"[/skill][skill]"Find Their Weakness!"[/skill]
Heck, I've even toyed around with the idea of using the (essentially...) unlinked Chants Hexbreaker Aria and Song of Concentration, especially useful for Mesmer-heavy areas. [skill]Hexbreaker Aria[/skill][skill]Song of Concentration[/skill]
Oh, and /P gives you a hard res option. [skill]signet of return[/skill]
However... if you plan on throwing spears at stuff, or providing serious party-support buffs, Paragon as a primary is the way to go.

thanks, great info i see what what you mean by serious buffing but i wasn't planning on that i was seeing it as more of a way of boosting my own DPS and the whole party as a knock on effect.
you have given me some great ideas.
oh, and would you recommend one type of weapon over another (not spear)

ehhh, no, not really. Each weapon is useable and powerful, but each has its own focus.
Axes are heavy damage dealers, and are able to spike extremely well (Eviscerate + Executioner's Strike is nearing 300 damage in 2 hits), especially given timed attacks such as Critical Chop to finish foes off, and the ease in which they can apply Deep Wound.
[skill]eviscerate[/skill][skill]executioner's strike[/skill][skill]critical chop[/skill]
Swords... deal more consistent damage than Axes, given their smaller damage range, and are very good at spreading Cripple - a particularly nasty condition - around with Crippling Slash. Also, Dragon Slash-based builds can near enough spam heavy hitting, high adrenaline sword attacks, such as Silverwing Slash, to deal substantial armour-ignoring damage. Also, Sun and Moon Slash + Conjure is really painful, against a kiting foe it can total to over 100 damage.
[skill]crippling slash[/skill][skill]dragon slash[/skill][skill]sun and moon slash[/skill]
Hammers hit harder than Axes and Swords, but have a slower attack speed to compensate. They are very useful, however, as a heavy-damage disruption weapon, utilizing attack skills to knockdown opponents. Foes sitting on their ass can do diddly-squat.
An attack chain such as [skill]devastating hammer[/skill][skill]mighty blow[/skill][skill]heavy blow[/skill][skill]crushing blow[/skill] hurts a lot, and can keep an enemy out of the game for a while. Or kill it.
The important thing, however, is not to get tied down to a single weapon - learn attack skills from all weapon types, get a few each of Axes, Swords and Hammers, and buy a helm with +1 to each weapon attribute, and place a corresponding rune in each helm; all these allow you to switch between each weapon when the situation calls for it.

[skill]Agonizing Chop[/skill] is better imo than critical chop since they nerfed critical.

Using Paragon shouts in conjunction with "Soldier's Defense" can be handy. Otherwise....I'd stick to a W/R/E/D

W/D?
Pious Haste, very good cancel for Frenzy. [skill]pious haste[/skill]
Rending Touch, kick ass enchant-removal for Warriors [skill]rending touch[/skill]
And Steady Stance scythe-wielders hurt, too.

Yea...I was thinking along the lines of SS Scythes...but Dervs generally have good buffs and skills that synergize well with warriors.
Age, I don't use W/A/Me/Rt except for farming...and I despise whammos. I suppose W/N is ok...but I'd take a W/R/D/E any day.

War/Rit may be the best and most under used warrior build.
Nightmare Weapon - 3 vamp attacks stealing 100+ for you!
Splinter Weapon - very cheap AOE dmg for a war and massive when comboed with Hundred Blades or Cyclone Axe
Warmonger Weapon - Possibly the best shutdown vs a caster a war can use. Combo it with IAS and your targer will not be able to cast for up to 13 seconds.
Weapon of Fury - an INCREDIBLE elite for a war running an adren build or a high energy build! Its free Zealous + increased adrenaline the perfect combo.
Don't fear any war secondary as a War can use War only skills and have many very powerfull builds. Secondarys really just allow better team builds and map specific builds.
Have fun and try them all

Why do you despise them though as they have become more popular in PvP again with mending touch?

I'm curious about [skill=text]Soldier's Fury[/skill] compared with [skill=text]Soldier's Stance[/skill].
Both are elites, but just reading the attribute benefits,
Soldier's Fury > Soldier's Stance. At 0 Leadership Soldier's Fury lasts 10 seconds, whereas Stance will only last that long at 14 Tactics... I might have missed a critical difference between these.

If you try wind prayers, Harrier's Haste and Natural Healing (like Heal sig without taking double damage and needs energy) look good. Pious Haste and Rend. Touch were also already suggested.

If I were using a W/P, Signet of Return will almost definitely be in my build. I'm not sure if this is good or not, just an idea that came into my mind, but has anyone tried Vow of Strength with an IAS? Might not be that good, looking at how many useful warrior attack skills there are.
However, Steady Stance and Desperation/Drunken Blow does work especially well with 12 in Scythe Mastery.

Yeah, I've toyed around with the idea. Hammer warrior, naturally, to get some serious damage out of it.
And with Hammer Bash/Crushing Blow - when I wanted a DW on someone, I pulled Vow with Pious Light or Rending Touch. Felt kinda clunky, tbh.
