Default Pure Warrior PvE

I'm just using the standard Dragon Slash build off wiki and that's pretty much the only thing i've been using. I'm wondering if there are any other fun builds to use in PvE.

All I know is Dragon Slash is the highest damaging elite skill for warrior so I went swords and DS and never looked back.

on my bar I don't use any other professions' skills. While it's true that DS is the best build, I also took out i think Rush or Sprint and threw in Whirlwind Attack which is great when paired with Dragon Slash. I also threw in Endure Pain in my build. So my real question I guess is . . .

1. Are any of you pure warriors? If so, why? If not, why not? (meaning you're W/* and don't use any secondary profession skills)

2. What's a fun warrior build to try out for sh1ts and giggles?

enduring harmony, brawling headbutt, enraging charge are all good skills to add.

enraging charge works better than any other sprint skill, flail should go in there, and yes loads of people play war only builds... dragon slash spamm in itself is war only skills. Why not? cus my build doesnt need other skills from other proffesions.

Brawling headbutt + Dslash is nice.. spammable kds is fun. Conjure + triple chop is nice too...

on a side not, whirldwind is crap in a ds build... dmg is rubbish and its a waste of adren... use sun and moon slash instd. Endure pain is also rubbish.

but whirlwind helps me take down mobs by being able to hit them all at once.

granted you aren't always facing mobs, but if i had to take it out, i'd probably put in Mending Touch to remove blind/cripple from me

Sorry, wether you like it or not is not the question, its a crappy, wastefull skill in relation to other viable alternatives.

Whirlwind attack is not a crappy skill. It's a decent AoE with decent +damage. Racks up the adrenaline too. (Not that I run it anymore on my SY spammer, but yeah it's not too shabby).

Except Dragon Slash, Brawling Headbutt, and Steelfang Slash can do more KD's than a W/x with a Hammer can dream of doing.

It's crappy compared to the other things a Dslasher can bring.

Never be afraid to play around with builds, even if they are weaker than your favorite as they may just be more fun to use.

I posted a Flourish build that I find very fun to use, but it does take a little skill/timing to use effectively and is in now way as efficient as having a interupt ranger or mesmer in your party. But it is fun to play with new builds and you should also look into some skills from your secondary that may be funny to see on a war.

Fun is the key here

Whirlwind attack isn't horrid if you have a splinter rit on your back.

Any normal attack is good with splinter on your back, there are better alternatives to whirlwind.

Haha I am tempted to use that myself Dont think it'd be the greatest build I ever did use... But it 'could' be funny to run lol... But then the given stampeed might just run me off my horse :S.

Whirlwind Attack is pretty bad. However, it + hammer = lolz for adrenal gain. Actually, Hammers in general are pretty lol. With the addition of "You Move Like a Dwarf!" you can KD a target as you run towards it and keep it on the ground indefinitely with standard hammer KD chains. Makes any boss stupidly easy to kill provided they can be KD'd.

If you're running a DSlash build, are you running Save Yourselves? If not, give it a try; invincibility (for everyone but you :P) is pretty funny.

I went Whirlwind cause I got tired of doing only single target damage with my Dragon Slash Build

no I haven't used Save Yourselves yet, but I heard it was a good skill.

and . . .

Dragon Slash + Whirlwind Attack DOES get good adren gain when you're hitting mobs . . .

It's not like I spam it and use nothing else.

my bar is like this

Standing Slash
Sun + Moon Slash
Dragon Slash
Whirlwind Attack
Enraging Charge
Flail
For Great Justice
Endure Pain

This skill should be superglued to your DSlash bar.
