Default A new Warrior build! :O

Okay, so this build was inspired by a build that I saw another warrior run while observing HoH. It worked essentially as a disrupter to prevent flag runners and to keep monks down while others were being spiked. These were the main 2 skills:

[skill]Backbreaker[/skill][skill]Steelfang Slash[/skill]

His primary weapon was the sword to build adrenaline with. At the right moment, he would swap to hammer, use Backbreaker, swap back to sword, then Steelfang, Sever, Gash. If the enemy had to be locked down, he would use Backbreaker, Steelfang, hit a few times, Steelfang, Backbreaker again, etc.

This inspired a build for me to make for RA (since I love just going there with random builds for the heck of it):

[skill]Devastating Hammer[/skill][skill]Crushing Blow[/skill][skill]Steelfang Slash[/skill][skill]Bull's Strike[/skill][skill]Frenzy[/skill][skill]Rush[/skill][skill]Healing Signet[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

Hammer Mastery: 12+1+1
Swordsmanship: 9+1
Tactics: 10+1
Strength: 5+1

With this build, I start out with the bow and shoot a few guys while they're standing around to build adrenaline. When everyone starts engaging in battle, I swap to sword (due to the higher attack speed) and continue building adrenaline. Once Dev Hammer and Steelfang are ready, I swap to hammer and choose the target that would most likely be the highest threat and start spamming knockdowns as much as possible.

The reason why I chose Devastating Hammer is because of the cheaper adrenaline cost (10 seems too hefty for no adrenaline building skills except for Steelfang, which is weakened due to more points in Hammer Mastery). It also provides Weakness which is a great boon against Warriors and Dervishes and still pretty good against other professions.

After some testing, this build has proven to be less damaging than the standard Dev Hammer build (duh >_>), but a lot more disruptive in terms of managing damage coming at your team and can still deal pretty decent spikes for when someone's getting near low health.

I hope you guys enjoy it .

P.S. The key to weapon swapping is to wait until just after your attack lands, moving a split second and swapping during the process, then continue attacking. This way, you can avoid the 1-2 seconds that your character usually spends standing idle while waiting for the attack to finish in order to swap.

That's a pretty interesting idea to be honest, I'm going to give it a try

and it's a pretty old concept as well...

WM-Warriors charging Adren with Nolani-Firewands and swapping Sword/Shield and Hammer come to mind

BUT

why do you really want to use sword attack-skills and spend that many points in the attribute?

you could just charge adrenalin with an un- or under-specced (r7 etc.) sword and then go on full-blow hammer chains!

i can see that playing this in RA is fun and a good way to practice the swapping, BUT it ain't the most efficient of builds i am afraid to say.

Well, the reason why I have 10 sword spec (and not just 9) is for the 4 adrenaline gain in Steelfang rather than 2-3. By using this, I can use Steelfang, hit twice, swap to hammer, Dev Hammer, swap back, Steelfang, hit twice, etc.

Also, sorry if I didn't make it clear. The longbow part was just a side thing that I did to build adrenaline. The main combo I was highlighting in the build was the Dev Hammer and Steelfang thing.

i am aware of your intentions - was just trying to say there is other, more efficient ways to chain KDs, especially in competitive team play

I shall give your build a whirl in RA though!

Mind telling me a few of the ways to chain KD's in that case (besides standard Dev Hammer and Heavy Blow)? I'm not fully aware of hammer/KD chains yet, due to mainly using sword builds >_<. From what I've seen so far, this is the most efficient way to spam KD's as efficiently as possible without gimping damage or spiking too much unless you can give me a better example (although I'm sure there are some obvious combinations that I'm missing >_>).

Also, that was the first time I've seen Steelfang utilized well besides the standard Dragon Slash / Brawling Headbutt / Steelfang Slash combo for PvE. So yeah, it's new to me...

Thunderclap + Shocking Short Bow :-D

It looks like a fun build, probably not competetive but lots of fun. Also, try using a furious spear over a bow for ranged adrenaline gain.
