It lets you build adrenaline faster/deal more damage with no significant downside.

Because it makes stuff go BOOM.
33% IAS means you're doing 50% more damage, gaining 50% more adrenaline and thus can use your deadly combos much more often.
And don't use frenzy as a moron, cancel it when getting too much damage.
While you are autoattacking some other warrior because all you got from damage are a few dumb ripostes and an elite block stance.

Take a look at a warriors options for IAS for PvP. They have flail, which makes them slower, so they're easy to kite. They have flurry, which decreases your base attack damage, which is very useful for a warrior. They have tigers stance, but it cannot be kept up a lot and ends if your attack doesn't hit. They have soldier's stance, but that's an elite. Then they have frenzy, which makes you take double damage, but that's easy to counter by canceling the stance, or getting PS on you.
Why do you think almost every warrior in PvP uses frenzy? Because it's the best IAS available. But of course, you think they're idiots for using the best IAS available.

LMAO, i have PWNED to many frenzy tanks to know they suck, i ab with either my mesmer or My tank, and no frenzy warrio has ever beat me, a few have called me back for a 1v1, but they learn quick who is better when they lay there for dead within 30 seconds, so u can try ur best to make me believe alex, but i know what i can PWN without using noob frenzy
|
Can i see joor toxic shocker tank? It must be pretty epic to PWN frenzy tanks in AB and in 1 vs 1 in 30 seconds.
Oh and for the record...

1vs1 means NOTHING in a team based game(which guildwars happens to be).
And ffs quit using frenzy as a moron. You got a CANCEL STANCE. It's there for a reason, use it.

I'm not sure why you're all bothering with this scrub. Leave him and his "max PvP titles" (lol) to rot cluelessly in RA/AB imo. Anyone who says Frenzy is fail (l2cancel, srsly) or that Empathy is a good skill to use in PvP (lolwut) should be ignored from the start. "I has 1337 build but won't share it" ftw? Hell, this kid even thinks 1v1 proves anything. Ban for failure imo.

It's funny. I've not seen this much fail since populationcontrol. I need a laugh between counselling sessions

I don't know much about PvP, but I can see it being useful here. Even though you take twice as much damage with Frenzy, you have a solid backline for one, second you'll rarely go for the warrior - the few times I did PvP, it was "ignore the melee, put down your wards (played N/E warder) and focus on the monks".
It's not PvE. PvE foes will strike on anything, so Frenzy isn't so good in there.
Oh and to whoever was talking about Empathy in PvP, it will result in:
a) Hex removal;
b) Your target will stop attacking because let's face it, we're not facing computers here, and wait for hex removal. So back to a). It's not PvE. The monks WILL have hex removal.

PvP is not based on 1vs1, neither is it balanced around it. The more you try to argument with it the more and more you expose strong retardiation that makes people around you retarded too. I'll keep a distance.

Gloria, you lost when you said [skill]empathy[/skill]. I stopped using that when I learned how to be a good mesmer. 2 sec cast? Yeah, GG.
Observe any GOOD PvP and you will see most warriors killing stuff with [skill]frenzy[/skill]. Maybe that riposte warrior works for you in RA/AB/FA, where Shadowstep sins and SF eles mate and breed.
All that is moot, as this is a PVE FORUM. PvE, your job as a warrior is to kill stuff. Fast. The armor allows your monks to worry less about you taking damage while you kill stuff. Do anything else and you are either running or farming, each of which can be done better with other professions.
Second lol@[skill]empathy[/skill]

They'll mainly be going for the members of your party with lower AL. That being said, you will still get targeted sometimes, but as long as you have a somewhat decent monk, you'll be fine with frenzy. Having PS on you will pretty much negate the double damage.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying frenzy is the best choice in PvE, but as long as you aren't using it like a retard, you'll be fine.

True. It all depends how it's used really, but I wouldn't trust a lot of people with Frenzy on their bar because PUGs in general don't use stuff wisely... Wait till you've taken a lot of damage and your party is settled in the fight, take down the backliners/high damagers while your party nukes the rest. But how much do you bet that most PUGs would use it at the beginning of a fight, when they're still the target of many attacks/spells? Not counting the ones who think monks should do everything for them and who'll continue to attack with Empathy, SS or any anti-melee... when your monks aren't carrying hex removal (and if it's a high-hex area, huh... bad monk! >_>)
I don't use it myself to avoid doing something similar, but the more I read this, the most I understand how it's/should be used.
