get to beacons perch
spend 2k on a droks run (down to 9k)
at droks, there is max AL armor (60 if caster, 70 if ranger, 80 if warrior)
buy a set
port back to wherever you are in the campaign and continue.

Going to be a little tougher than that.Typical piece of armor that is 60,70,80 costs roughly 5k per piece+materials(that can range from needing 10-100 of a crafting material per piece).Figure on spending 25k and needing 250 of 1 kind of material and 150 of another kind.Elite/Prestige armor will have those max bases, but will be 10-15k per piece and need rare materials(good luck on those).

Nowhere near that bad. A full set of armour is 5k, not single pieces. At worst, really, is 5k for the armour and 5k for the materials - leaving you with spare change for insignia and runes.

to the OP - if you have EotN, then you can go there at level 10 and there's a guy at Boreal Station with basic max armour.
For Nightfall, get a taxi to Consulate Docks.
For Prophecies, you're gonna need to hand over a few more K for a run to Droknar's Forge.
For Cantha, you need to play the damn game, alas, before you can get max armour - it's just 2 missions in, however, so not too far.

Instead of a drok run a person with Proph and Factions needs only to get as far as Lions Arch and take the mission to Cantha that dumps them into KC for max armor also.

There's also max armor in the first EotN area, I forget what it's called, but if you have access to EotN it's avaiulable once you hit level 10 and have access to lions arch, kaineg or kamadan.

For PvE you really don't need Droks armour if you want to save for something better the crafter outside of Sanctum Cay is good as well as Amnoon Oasis the al is 71.I got my Ranger through 3 cmapaigns using Amnoon Oasis armour. The AI armour al is much less even Ascalon armour will do around Droks as long as you aren't solo farming or running. The Stone summit and avicera tengu have al 38.

yes there is max armor in Eye of the North (the town, first stop after boreal station) but the problem is you have to be r5 to craft it.

I think he means this guy, in Boreal Station. ANet added him in the GW:EN trial preview, and he wasn't there in the release of GW:EN. No reputation required.

Tisk, Tisk. Save your money and use high end collectors armor -
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/sjeng/
Use that and find your location then find a collector near you.
(Side note, If you have 11k I think you shouldnt consider buying armor. Wait until you have 60-80k and you can get elite. But in the meantime use collectors.)

Why wait until you get to 60-80k to buy your first max armor set? For players who are that new to the game, 60k is a fortune. 11k is fine; 5k crafting cost, maybe 2-5k for materials, and the rest is spare change either to keep or spend on runes/insignia. Even if you're going to get an elite set, it'd be a good idea to get a 1k set, finish the game, and then save up for something you like.

There simply is no need why to buy Elite Armour instead of normal. It isn't better and also not always looks cooler. I mean, to my opinion normal Templars is cooler then Elite Templars. With 11k in your pocket, you can get the best armour easily. With some spare money, you can dye it and buy insignia and runes. 5k per piece, and some k for materials.

I know where you are coming from, my main account has so much extra cash i bought pretty much every elite armor sets i could for my warrior, and don't touch 3/4 of them.

But on my other account I am completely strapped for cash and just recently got myself some droks armor and plan to rune/insig it up for PvP.

You should really tell us what campaign your lvl12 warrior is so we can help you better.

In Proph just, get a droks run and get some armor there, or get the collector armor (although imo it doesn't look so great)

If your in Factions, you will have to play through the campaign until you reach Kaineng Center and choose some armor there. And there is kurzick and luxon non-elite armor if you progress through the game further.

For Nightfall, getting a ferry to the Consulate Docks is pretty easy, and you get max armor there as well.

I just bought 1k plate helm/boots/gloves with 1k knights curiass and leggings.

If you are PvEing mainly with this character, runes and insignias shouldn't cost you too much. But if you plan on PvPing you will need to get some Survivor Insignias, minor att rune (hammer/axe/sword), sup vigor, sup absorb, vitae and minor strength (not needed but always helps)

And plan ahead when buying your helmet, think about what weapon you will be using the most and get the +1 for that attribute (or if you conjure up some more cash, buy a helm for each attribute and put a minor of the same att on it so you can use different builds without losing attributes much easier)

LOL my FIRST set of armor was Templar's.My second is Gladiator's(modified for Raptor farming). My third set(or first elite)is Asuran modified for Snowman farming. But seeing as the AL on all this stuff is 80 it really does boil down to what can you afford to blow on it and what you think looks cool. Also I STILL use my Templar as my general PvE armor.

My sets are:
1. Full radiant Glads with minor wep rune, sup vig, sup abs, 2x vitae
2. Full survivor Platemail with same runes.

Works well first for PvE, 2nd for PvP/tanking/dungeons i think.

Much <3
