Kk,... Even though I admit a pet on a warrior isn't the best choice, you're giving the wrong reasons >_< It's death does disable your skills, but a lvl 20 Pet has 80 armor, as much as a Warrior or a Paragon, and a lvl 20 Dire Pet has a better damage rate than a Hammer itself (20-46, crits included), and all it needs is [Call of Protection], which only costs 5e and lasts 120 secs,...

I just can't stand by and watch someone call pets useless! Gotta love 'em <3.

I would go with grasping earth not shock or conjures on a hammer warrior. You could use armour of earth as well as magnetic earth I usppose but grasping is the one you want.

I agree Maneo....I was about to say basically the same thing about pets, definately not useless. My warrior made it all the way to the desert as a Ranger secondary and while I didn't always equip the pet...I frequently had [skill]Apply Poison[/skill] and [skill]Tiger's Fury[/skill] on my skillbar.

Sometimes I'll take W/Me to make people wonder, but usually I keep W/Mo just to be annoying.

Oh... [Mending Touch] Rules.

I lol'd.

Basically listen to anything Marty has said: [Earth Shaker], [You Move Like a Dwarf!], [Bull's Strike], and I would suggest [For Great Justice!]. As a hammer warrior you probably don't even need the other four skills (ok, slight exaggeration).

[great dwarf weapon] is a ally only spell. No useful in bringing it on your bar if you're the only human player, being Heroes and Henchmen cant use Title Track skills.

Hang on, so whats the deal with pets? Some people think they are useless and some think they are a good? I understand that they do require a lot of skill point investment, away from your damage really, but then again, its the benifit of a second individual also dealing damage... so really, it comes down to whether the investment is worthwhile?
Is an investment in a pet worth the skills spent? definately kool but if it doesnt pay off then damage from element sounds pretty good....

Pretty much... [conjure flame] > pet
Period.

Conjure is strong at a measly 8 spec, pets don't really do much untill around 12 spec (half your attribute points).

Conjure is one skill, a pet is at least 2 - then an extra couple if you want it to be useful ([[call of protection], [[feral lunge] etc.)

Oh, and Conjure doesn't black out your skillbar for 8 seconds (clearing your adrenaline, btw) when it goes down - which a pet does.

Pets are really quite a bad way of supplementing your damage as a warrior.

Pet's are useless to a warrior. They're going to most likely waste two skills on your bar, they require a large attribute spread into a line that provides no real benefit to your class, they don't do anything that other options could do better and they carry the additional burden of blacking out your skills when they die and diverting heals from AI monks.

In fact the entire ranger line is largely useless for a warrior, as your not going to get anything with practical uses out of it. Apply Poison is too expensive for a warrior to continually maintain and the ranger based stances are nothing the warrior stances can't handle. Considering you want to play a hammer warrior, Flail should be your general purpose IAS stance anyway.

As for a secondary, as a warrior it really isn't that important. The warrior's own skill line combined with PvE skills gives you enough options to create a strong skill bar without gimping yourself in some way. /E probably provides you with the largest variety of potentially useful skills, while the other professions may hold a couple of niche skills useful in specific scenarios.

Apart from, of course, the new [antidote signet]

Like EH from /P, that one skill alone is enough to consider /R as a viable secondary.

Pets on most war builds are detrimental, however for a hammer war that doesnt need to invest points for a shield you can bring a pet and do some extra free damage with it.

The one time I really loved my pet on my war/ranger was during the preview of GWEN when [Feral Aggression] was only 5E and lasted 20sec and dealt +15dmg( for my 10 point investment that is )...

Just a little bit overpowered, but gee...why not give us a single skill that at 12attributes allowed my Dire White Tiger to out DPS my DragonSlash build?????
