Here's something I came across earlier today:
Keen Chop
Eviscerate
Executioner's Strike
Enraging charge
For Great Justice!
Flail
Insert random PvE skills or rez here
Use with a D/N orders hero and you have an axe form of dslash with repeatable critical hits. Add in a 20/20 and customized axe, and maybe even conjure, and your DPS is very fine, on the order of Dslash WITH DW.

Spamming Keen Chop would disrupt your adr a lot. The efficiency of Evis+Executioner's will drop, and it basically means no SY. Overall, it sounds good, but I'm not really sure it'd be worthwhile.

There are a couple of problems with Keen Axe: it doesn't play nicely with other adrenaline skills, and it doesn't work so well against tougher monsters because crits are still affected by armor, whereas +damage isn't. When FGJ is up it runs okay adrenaline-wise, but without it you're just a normal Evis build with crits every other hit, which doesn't stand out. You could run Cleave and Dismember and get a better effect. Also, conjure plus orders does not work.

Imho frenzy is a terrible idea in HM PvE. Just use flail and cancel with rush if the mob is kitting (which happens less than PvP where frenzy belongs).

Every time frenzy doesn't kill you, it was a better choice. I'd rather push more damage than be afraid of taking damage and stancing between flail and rush wasting loads of adrenaline. If the build can put prot on you, frenzy tends to be fine in almost any HM area, and the necro build (which is what this topic was asking about) makes running frenzy an easy call. In fact, running a SY dragon slash build is basically way overkill on defense with sabway, so I would call into question those replies.

Half the time I have Godmode running I don't bother with SY! unless I see red bars fluctuating too much for my taste. Just because it's on my bar doesn't mean I have to spam it, but it is good utility. I can (and do) just as easily hit FGJ! > 20 seconds of DSlash w/ no SY!. It's actually rather funny.

How does Enraging Charge not equal more damage? Bonus Adrenaline on your next hit doesn't speed up your killing enough, or are u using a full energy bar?

That's absolutely the best reason for playing D-slash in pve, FGJ is still broken with it (quite fun).

Hrm, that quote was somewhat easy to misconstrue. The point I was trying to focus on was the word "specifically". That is, rush or enraging charge are both good skills, but if your mindset is that those are your 'frenzy/flail cancels', then you're going to be using them and your resources less efficiently.

Meh.
Flail's downside is so easily negated (yes I'm looking at you Grasping Earth) that I would say it's superior in HM. Yes, it drains your adren a bit, but it's up almost twice as long as Frenzy. And scary damage is scary, you won't always have Prot Spirit on you.

I would say use it a bit more selectively, but if at all possible without sacrificing an Adrenal boost for the next mob, yes, EC on recharge
