Lotus, I'll check out the build, although I normally don't carry a rez with me. I've been toying with a few that seem to be decent. I grabbed Triple Chop and regret it. Survivability is still ultra-low, and my 55 smiter is still superior. The big thing that hurts this build, as with almost every other build in existence, is that enchant removal destroys it, and many mobs can strip or shatter.

Paladin, there are very few MMOs that force players to group for the normal game storyline until either the very end or until the player starts doing extras, such as PvP/GvG or raids. There was an update years ago that added a ton of mobs as well as giving a lot of mobs enchantment-stripping abilities to combat botters. I very specifically remember playing outside LA with no problems, going to bed, getting up, and stepping outside LA to help a friend get to the settlement and finding radar slam full of red dots. When I had gone to bed, there were scattered groups of Tengu out there that one could easily take down group by group, but as we all know now, there are a ton of them out there and fighting multiple groups is common. That is just one example. Others include the run from Beacons to Droks, the area between Droks and Port Sledge, and the stuff around Granite Citadel. If you have never noticed the addition of mobs, you played after that update was added.

Ur 55 Smiter is still superior... because its main counters are the same as the counters of the wars (enchant strip), but when not facing those counters its better. If you wanted a warrior build thats BETTER then a 55 smiter for farming then I think the answer is ur not going to find one. Only thing I can sugget... make a 55 warrior with triple chop/whirlwind/cyclone flail and a zealous axe.

Something like:

Prot Spirit
Vigorous Spirit
Mending
Balthazars Spirit
Healing Breeze
Triple Chop
Whirling Attack (or whatever its called)
Cyclone Axe

8 Healing, 9 or 10 prot, 12 axe.

If none of these work for you, do everone a favor and use ur head. If you want a build from us, but dont want any we suggest then y post?

It's not that I don't want the builds, I just haven't seen one (yes, I have tried them) that has as much survivability as I'd like. At this point the only two fairly playable classes I have found are monk (healing or smiting) and my dervish. Both are fairly tough and can hold their own. I was able to do that with my warrior years ago, and I simply want to do it again.

its still not clear what you want a build for. Normal party play? solo farming? solo clearing? you haven't said.

He wants to beat the game by himself. Not farming, just being able to do everything without a party.

Baratus,

You are simply not going to find a build that allows your Warrior to solo survive any and all areas of the game. I understand the frustration of not being able to do what you once were, but the simple fact of the matter is that Guild Wars was designed to be played by parties, whether Heroes/Henchmen or other human players. You simply cannot take a single class on its own, with no other assistance, and make it through every single portion of every single map. I'm sorry, this myth has been (as of quite a while ago) busted.

Your 55 can do quite a bit, but one wrong move, and it's toast. Get Prot Spirit interrupted or stripped when it's about to end or it's in the middle of recharge, and it's a done deal on the next hit you take. Not even 60AL armor for your 55 (waste of money imho) is going to protect your 55hp from being knocked in the negatives. And I hope you can get that perfect spawn every time you face mobs with Life-Stealing skills, because one shot of a 12 Blood Magic Vampiric Touch/Vampiric Bite steals 65hp, which isn't reduced by armor or spells. Instant Death. No questions asked, since you aren't going to have the room to put Divine Intervention on your 55 bar.

A Warrior is meant to deal damage, but there is plenty of melee hate in GW. Blind, miss hexes, effect on attack/skill use hexes are all going to eat your face if you don't have some way to remove them. As a Warrior, you don't have the room on your bar or the available attribute points to spread as thin in order to provide yourself Damage, Self Heal, Hex/Condi removal, and other utility like IAS/IMS which you have to have to be able to face the mobs in GW and live to tell about it.

This is just the way it is, sorry that I can't tell you otherwise.

My suggestion is to get used to playing with Heroes. You can set your Monks up to do whatever you need them to do (I use a WoH Heal/Prot hybrid build on both Dunkoro and Ogden, personally - it works wonders, heals, prots, has condi/hex removal, all in one smart package). Henchmen aren't that bad either, as long as you can learn to pull. They seem to get a bit flustered if more than one group of mobs is involved in the fight, and we all know the feeling of their subpar skillbars (Hero Monks FTW!).

Use either a Triple Chop/Whirlwind Attack build for areas where you know that you can ball up the mobs with decent aggro control, or a Cleave spammer if you think that the mobs are prone to scatter.

My 2 cents, Baratus, take them or leave them, hope this helped.

Witte didnt come up with a build to solo the entire game. He came up with different builds to solo many areas of the game, and noones arguing that its not possible. We are saying that wanting 1 single build that can solo any and all areas isnt possible. My 55 can solo the UW which is a hard area, but fails in (example) HM ascalon, which noone would say is on the same difficulty level. There is NO build which can SOLO every area in the entire game.

I wasn't trying to solo everything, because areas that consist of only enchantment-stripping mobs could never be soloed, and that's to be expected. I wanted to be able to play alone if I couldn't get on at the exact same second as my friends, or vice-versa. Again, this is the fundamental flaw in GW and EQ2. If you and your buddies cannot sync up on a time to play, you're screwed.

Yes, I do have heroes that are quite good and I normaly carry one healing and one protection hero with me if I do a hard mission or area, but then the drops turn from gold into crap, making money is harder, and experience is cut WAY down. That wouldn't be so bad if it was a human playing with me, a human who could use the gold or items, but the bots don't have an inventory and they don't pick up the supposed drops that would normally drop for others. That makes material farming incredibly difficult.

My 55 smiter does have room for two optional skills and I use divine intervention regularly in certain areas. My build consists of PS/HB/SoJ, an optional, Mending/Bal's Spirit/Essence Bond, and hen another optional. Works incredibly well in most areas if my optionals are Zealot's Fire and the signet that gives you 9 energy for the three enchants I maintain. I have other variations stored for other areas. I can share the code if you're like to try it, it's a very good build for most areas, until you run into a ton of blood-suckers.

As for beating te game solo, no I hadn't planned on that. I have killed Rurik before and capped 100 blades from him (wasn't it him you capped it from?), and know that the final mission would be incredibly difficult if not impossible to solo. It's been a year since I ran it last, but assuming that there are no enchant-strippers there, the only chance in hell one would have would be t use a 55 smiter and take time. I just want to be able to move five feet outside of town without a freaking brigade of soldiers backing me up with nuclear weapons and tanks. Heck, that is the reason I left for WoW a few years ago.

If you want a specific idea of what I am looking for, I want a build that allows my warrior to actually damage enemies while staying alive. In the later parts of the game, with an axe or sword I wind up doing 4~12 damage per hit, not counting skills and/or crits. This is with 6-28 axes or 15-22 swords. I mean, those mobs must have an AL of about 150. While I am tickling them, any casting class can pull off major damage with even the most primitive spell, which just doesn't seem fair at all.

Whether doing real damage is possible or not, I'd like a build that allows the warrior to survive without casting a heal every five seconds. I have tried the triple-chop farmer build and I find myself gradually getting lower and lower on health during extended battles. I mean with that build, I seem to only be able to get 10hp from LV and 13HP from VS, which equals 23hp per hit per mob. If the mobs don't group (and they don't in many areas) I am screwed because I need to hit at LEAST three mobs per hit to stay up. Maybe that build was designed for a few specific areas, but I have not found them yet.

To be quite honest, I would like to farm the Southern Shiverpeaks. I remember being able to go outside one of the towns there and farming gryphons with m warrior years ago, and that was fun. I'd like to be able to do that again, if possible. Oh and I'd like to be able to farm for IDS for my guildmates. I have a ton (five or six) of FDS I got on my own years ago when idiots sold them for insanely high prices, and now it's the same thing with the IDS. It's only a sword for show, but I'd like each guild member to have one and we're not paying 20k+ for a sword like that. Is there a build for farming those areas as well?

Some of your expectations are unrealistic because of false assumptions and restrictions you have imposed. For example, I highly doubt that any single warrior build can adapt to solo in every area, although there might be several that come close. W/N Grenth's Balance is very hardy. Another restriction is the W/Mo requirement, although I admit I haven't read all of this thread to see whether you have allowed for changing your secondary. It's also not necessarily true that the presence of enchantment-stripping negates the possibility to solo an area.

As for the specific request for solo builds, Witte Was wrote a few guides for soloing almost everywhere in Tyria: Full Tyria Solo Tour and Full Southern Shiverpeak Solo Tour. Some of those builds will have to be adapted to accommodate the change to the armor cap from skills.

IDS can still be farmed as W/Mo, W/E, or W/Rt. W/Me may be possible with the proper equipment and skills, but I am unsure. Using search and a bit of sleuthing will turn up your desired result for those builds. The armor cap hurt quite a few builds for soloing PvE.

Finally, I'm frankly puzzled by your comments about damage from a warrior versus casters. You excluded the damage you deal from critical hits and skills, but instead compared your auto-attack damage to the damage inflicted by caster classes when they use their skills. If you turn that comparison around, I'm sure you'll find that casters deal very little damage from their wands compared to warriors with critical hits and attack skills.

Succeeding in clearing the game and making money/exp are nearly mutually exclusive. Go with hero hench and clear the game, any build should work fine. THEN run some of the pvx FARM builds to actually make the money. Whilst playing through the game does net you some money, ull never get anywhere without the absurdly lucky drop, or thousands of hrs.

Really? Tell that to my 55 smiter, which is still used to this day. Oh wait, that's a Prophecies/Core build! It's clear that you're fairly new, which your join date gives away as well. Many old Prophecies builds are still doable, and many more have slight modifications to include other skills from newer expansions that simply make them faster. Speed isn't a concern unless you're a gold-farmer, which is illegal anyway.

Lumi is right. I ran the game with friends ages ago and just running through the storyline and doing the side quests left me without enough materials and gold to buy my Drok's gear when I arrived. Luckily, my friends helped me there and all went well. That's why grinding (farming) is needed.

Oh and my comments about warrior damage are about sword warriors, not axe or hammer. I hear hammer is potent in PvP, but I'm not a big PvP fan. Grab a max-damage sword and load up on sword-skills and try to do much damage. You'll quickly discover that swords are nerfed into oblivion and have been for ages. My damage on both auto-attack and using skills is easily double that of my sword builds. Try it sometime if you have some cash to waste on a good max sword.

I'm not exactly too familiar with PvE myself, but the faster you farm the more money you gain. And if you invest in your time to getting Tripple Chop, it'll trim down your farming time.

Speaking through PvP, sword still has some uses with Cripslash/Dragon Slash/Sun and Moon Slash.

And join date has what to do with knowing anything about this game? That second quote shows you haven't been paying attention to anything for months. Godmode = win.

In fact, since trying Godmode out myself, with a home-made version of the build before checking the Warrior sticky (yeah, any skill that gives my allies +100 AL is going to get my attention, especially when FGJ!+DSlash was already a fun way to pound mobs into oblivion before SY! was given to us), I have rarely used any other skillset when running with my Alliance mates. Why? Because THEY want Godmode, and I'm more than willing to run it if they request it. I did use an Evis build today to replay Hell's Precipice on my main (a Guildie needed help through it on his first toon), mainly because I remember being frustrated the first time I swung a sword at a Burning Titan (damn buggers don't bleed... asshats) and back when only Prophecies existed, the only Sword Elite to be had was IN that mission (of course, back then it was a non-attribute Elite, even though it was a sword attack), and Cleave/Dismember spam was too nice to pass up my first time through... anyways, Deldrimor Talisman for me! Well, for my brother, I don't like the stats or skins on most of the Deldrimor gear...

OK, you got me curious, what skill gives you +100AL, much less gives it to all your allies? Sounds like a good tanking skill. I may change my current build to use that if it's worthwhile.

Kinetic Armor gives you +100 armor.... at 20 Earth Magic. For 8 seconds. Good luck with that.
The skill people are referring to is . It only works on other party members, so it is not useful if you want to solo. Look in the warrior sticky thread for the "godmode" build.
For a sword warrior, Dragon Slash can do stupid high dps, especially if you start stacking +damage skills or PvE skills. It's not hard to do 70-80 dps with a sword, and then you start stacking those other skills, and you may as well have a lightsaber. Everything melts in half.
