Default Prophecies Only Sword Warrior Builds (WiP)

There has been great deal of members asking for Propheciey only builds for sword.I thought gathering everyones input would be good.

I am working on one like this

100 blades,seeking blade,galrath slash,heal sig or another attack,bonetti's defence.ias.ims and res.

14 in sowrd,10 in tactics and 9 in strength.

I know it is most energy based but for non fleshies there is no getting away from it.

[hundred blades][sever artery][gash][galrath slash][frenzy][rush]optional[resurrection signet]
That should work
14 sword
13 strength (maybe split some into tactics if you take heal sig)

You want an IAS, IMS, AND Bonetti's? Since you want Frenzy up all the time I don't see how Bonetti's is going to be of much use.

Btw, I do have campaign specific builds for each campaign and each weapon, I just can't be bothered posting them -> getting input -> adding to the guide.

I put Bonetti's in there to help regain energy and it could be used t o cancel out Frenzy.I put an IMS as a cap filler.Bonetti's can be taken out if you have zealouse sword.I wasn't aware you had campaign specific builds.

No need for an energy intensive sword build. Also, no need for [[Bonetti's Defense] as a cancel stance, just use [[Rush], which is a safer bet at 4 adren compared to Bonetti's 8. Bonetti's energy gain only works against melee, so if you're not fighting melee, it's useless.

[skill]hundred blades[/skill][skill]sever artery[/skill][skill]gash[/skill][skill]galrath slash[/skill][skill]frenzy[/skill][skill]rush[/skill][skill]conjure flame[/skill][skill]Resurrection signet[/skill]

Damage with conjure and HB up is quite nice on a sword for prophecies only character.

This is FTW.

Set attributes to:

12+1+1 Swordsmanship
8+1 or 9+1 Strength
10 or 9 in Fire Magic (or Water/Air if you decide to use [Conjure Frost] or [Conjure Lightning])

The reason that you would swap between 8+1 and 9+1 in Strength (which would necessitate a change from 10 to 9 in the Elementalist attribute for your Conjure spell) is in case you are facing the Weakness condition. Weakness decreases all of your attributes by 1, and if you don't meet the requirement of your shield (which will probably be req9 Strength) you only gain half the armor benefit (which would give you 8ar instead of the full 16ar).

I suppose but the only non energy attacks are galrath and final thrust.I am looking at it for non fleshies which there are a lot of.Bonetti,s can block some elemental damage. When the game first came out and even in beta most used WY heal sig.Frenzy was not stance back then so it couldn't be canceled which was campaigned hard on The Guild Hall for pvp use

I am more looking this for a non fleshy area and the closest skill to sun and moon in Proph is seeking blade.

I have come up with this so far.

[hundred blades][galrath slash][final thrust][savage slash] or [distracting blow][frenzy][rush][conjure lightning][resurrection signet]

all Prophecey skills.
sword 14
strenght 8
air 7 .

You're missing a few attribute points. You should be able to get a 12+1+1/8+1/10 split.

Also, for non-fleshies, there isn't much you can do with it. It'd be nice to slot FGJ somewhere but even with a zealous I don't know how much you'd be able to get out of your other skills. The sever/gash build posted above is good.

Frenzy and Hundred Blades have antisynergy. To get the most out of HB you need to be bodyblocking enemies into adjacent AoE and therefore holding near 100% aggro. You can step around this somewhat by with protective spirit, but seeing is this is prophesies only you don't have any heroes and have to rely on Lina.

Tigers or Flurry imo, gives you an extra slot by not needing a cancel.

Flurry reduces attack damage by 25%, and has a 5e cost with a 5sec duration/cooldown. It's going to burn through his energy faster than all get out. If he's using a Zealous weapon to counteract that, he can't use a Conjure.

Also, since he doesn't have Factions [[Tiger [email protected]] is out. The only thing he'd be able to use would be [[Tiger's Fury], which would necessitate a /R secondary and investment into Beast Mastery; even then with a 10e cost and a 10sec cooldown with duration based on BM rank, it's not going to be that effective.

This is probably the best you're gonna get for a prophecies only sword build.

Tiger stance is a factions skill (and a bad IAS), and flurry is horrible on a warrior.

Yes, tigers fury.

How are either of those options worse than having frenzy sit idle on your bar while 95% of the time while all the aggro is on your butt?

Edit: To clarify further...
If you're playing with henchies and you're set on using hundred blades then I'd be using something similar to:
[hundred blades][sever artery][gash][galrath slash][for great justice][tiger's fury][edge of extinction][resurrection signet]
or
[hundred blades][sever artery][gash][galrath slash][for great justice][flurry][bonetti's defense][resurrection signet]
you'll be bodyblocking to maximise the damage output from your elite.

If you're playing with henchies and not married to HB
[warriors endurance][sever artery][gash][power attack][frenzy][rush][conjure flame][resurrection signet]
or
[flourish][savage slash][power attack][final thrust][frenzy][rush][conjure flame][resurrection signet]
Throw in [griffon's sweep] instead of final thrust for the block heavy areas. You're in chase and kill mode with these.

If you're playing with people then you can actually run HB and frenzy together, however in this case you definitely don't want conjure because it halves the MoP/Barbs damage.
[hundred blades][sever artery][gash][galrath slash][for great justice][frenzy][rush][resurrection signet]

Blocking some elemental damage isn't worth it.

Yes, so that happened back then. Back then the Tactics attribute line was viable. Back then the most common warrior armor combination was 15k Ascalon Helm + 15k Glad's set. Hell, back then the Guild Hall was active. Look at it now. Unfortunately the game's nowhere the same as it was back then. I understand your desire to relive the past when the game wasn't populated by crazied title seekers or unsocial players completing games with only heroes/henchies. I'm trying to think of classic Proph only builds, but it seems to be mainly:
[Sever][Gash][Final Thrust][Frenzy][Healing Signet][Resurrection Signet]

I'm actually trying to remember EW's Wammo build that came with their Shock build.. just can't remember it.
But I dug up some old EW warrior builds:
[Tiger's Fury][Executioner's Strike][Eviscerate][Axe Rake][Disrupting Chop][Sprint]["For Great Justice!"][Resurrection Signet]
[Tiger's Fury][Wild Blow][Distracting Blow][Executioner's Strike][Eviscerate][Axe Rake][Sprint][Resurrection Signet]

I have all campaigns and addons and my favourite sword skill is DSlash.I wanted to but together a collection of builds that works for sword Warrior only with Prophecey only campaigns.I have seen a few threads asking for axactly this.

The one I came up with is the only one that I could think of that would deal with non fleshies like Siege Ice Golems and anything that doesn't bleed. The secondary can be changed.I was does god amount of damage with it and scored 152 with master of damage.I wanted something without the usaual sever and gash.

I can use standing slash, sun and moon slash and dragon slash but Prophecey owners don't have those skills.

This what I meant by work in progress.

Yes I know axe is better as well as hammer but I wanted to keep this sword.

Compare:

Frenzy: 5e, 8sec duration, 4sec recharge: ias +33%, dmg taken x2

Flurry: 5e, 5sec duration, 5sec recharge: ias +33%, dmg dealt -25%

Tiger's Fury: 10e, duration based on BM rank, 10sec recharge: +25% ias, non-attack skills disabled

Of these 3, Frenzy wins. Why?

1) Cost/duration ratio:Frenzy requires no skill point investment, and has an 8sec duration. 3sec more than Flurry, means it costs less energy to maintain. You won't invest enough in BM for Tiger's Fury to be able to maintain it, not to mention, it's double the cost @ 10e.

2) Downside comparison: You take double damage while in Frenzy. You deal -25% dmg while in Flurry. Your non-attack skills are disabled for 5 seconds while in Tiger's Fury.

It is better to depend on your Heal/Prot Henchies to do their job than deal less damage or not have access to utility skills.

3) Frenzy wins. Period: Prophecies-only has precious few ias options. Frenzy is the best one, hands down. I'm pretty sure Marty Silverblade explains why in the Sticky, even if you don't want to agree after you've read my comparison in this post.

There is an equal trade-off for every benefit you can gain in GW. Warriors use Frenzy when they don't have access to Flail. Some Warriors use Frenzy even when they have access to Flail. Be a WARRIOR, use Frenzy.

Flurry gives -25% to the 5-10 auto attack damage that you to the L28 armour throgh the roof creatures that you're attacking. You're balancing 1-2 dps against taking double damage. As you can see from the builds I posted, I have nothing against frenzy, but frenzy with HB is silly because either your sits ias is unused or your elite slot is totally wasted.

Just to qualify this, your base damage goes down but hit more often so you end up gaining just a little bit of damage.

Cellardweller, you are also using up energy faster. At 8 to recharge seconds you've completely regained the energy to use frenzy again. With flurry you are losing energy. If it lasted 8 or 10 seconds, then it might be a more serious competitor to frenzy.
