Building a better Charr (W/x)
So I'm seriously getting back into Guild Wars after a multiple-year hiatus and I am still trying to get "caught up" on all the changes, etc. I was recently checking out the "bonus mission packs" and I noticed the Gwen/Charr missions and I had a strange idea: I would like to build a "Charr" anti-charr Warrior.
Basically, my requirements are this:
1. Only use skills from Prophecies or EotN.
2. Use this armor:
(I'll worry about how I'll afford it later)
3. Use only this shield:
4. Use either of these two weapons (I'm leaning more towards the axe as I have 2 sword-W already:
or
5. I'm really still brainstorming on the insig/rune choices for my armor as well as the mods for my shield/weapon. I think the "standard" insig/rune setup is survivors and +skill/vitae/sup vigor but I haven't a clue on the shield/weapon.
6. This will be a perma-prophecies/EotN character whose sole mission is to kill Charr, either in pugs or with friends (is solo even possible any more?), and to have lots of fun.
I've looked at all of the warrior/x charr bosses on the wiki and most seem to use a mix of Lion's Comfort, Shield Stance, Conjure Flame, Flail, Eviscerate, Wild Blow, Frenzy, Executioner's Strike, etc so I was initially leaning towards a skill set based on these widely-used Charr skills, but I'm not hell-bent on using them. I'll definately be working on the Ebon Vanguard title track so that I have some decent access to their variety of anti-Charr abilities. In order to plan for the possibility of being able to solo the Charr, at least in Prophecies, I've been looking with interest at the Ebon Sniper/Assassin support skills.
What does everyone think? Any constructive criticism or advice on a decent skill bar? Thanks and sorry if this is asking too much.
(and geeze I forgot how much I love this game)

An intresting Role Playing idea... I mean it would seem to suffice anyone who wanted to play Charr in gw2 but has to wait. (personally I'd use conjure frost to be the ANTI-charr)

Asking for a skill bar is a no-no here. Since you said you wanted to use charr skills give a look through the wiki and pick out the ones you'd feel like running and we can comment on that.

While I certainly understand the animosity towards anyone who wants to be "spoon fed" anything, I've done lots of looking on this site and found many of the suggestions to people's skill bar ideas involve a COMPLETE reworking I'm not in the position to do additional posting/research this very moment, but I will definately check back in this evening and update with a few different skill selection scenarios.
Until then, if ya'll would prefer to reserve your skill ideas until then, I'll completely understand. ::insert thumbs-up icon here::
EDIT: For some reason I suddenly can't post anything without "moderator approval". I've added a few ideas for skills in another post just now, but it's not showing up. Can someone let me know what happened?

I pretty much did this with my warrior back when I was a newbie. In fact, a large part of Terek's storyline is that he spent 2 years after the Searing killing Charr outside of Piken Square and generally being GW's version of Rambo.
The Charr use a lot of good skills. What we want to do with our skill setup is reflect some of the characteristics common to the Charr: Brutality, hatred, domination, fire, barbarism, a love of hunting, etc.
But there's another side to the Charr we want to reflect: grace, cunning, intelligence; the Charr have made murder into an artform.
So, naturally, I chose axes, because they're brutal weapons.
I'd stick to using Eviscerate and Executioner's Strike as the groundwork for the build. Then I'd play around with Conjure Flame and other attack skills. You would need Frenzy/Flail and Rush/Enraging Charge in there, though.

Awww shucks @ the hat. Maybe next year.
@Terek: I spent a while looking at Eviscerate but in the end I've decided that it's a pretty heavy adrenaline build. FGJ! helps with the x2 adrenaline, but it only lasts for 20 seconds and has a 45 second recharge time. Have I arrived at the correct conclusion or is there something else I'm missing or is the 45second recharge time not that big of a deal. Would a "furious" mod even help?
edit: see my next post for skill choices. This post never showed up so I edited them into my other message that actually posted.

Have you considered using Charrslayer weapons, then?

yeappers. I have a perma-pre character so that's the first thing that came to mind. I suspect the +20%dmg will be much better than the 30 life.
edit: I had a big ole long post with my skill bar setup ideas but it's pending some sort of "moderator review" and still isn't showing up. o.O
edit2: ok here's a couple of ideas I had typed in the invisi-post earlier:
(axe build 1) energy-driven
Warrior's Endurance
Cyclone Axe
Dismember
Power Attack
Ias: Frenzy/Flurry (yech...which is the least horrible...x2dmg or -25% dmg)
Keen Chop/Penetrating Blow/Distracting Blow (no clues here but at least Distracting Blow is energy-based)
Healing Signet
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support / Rez Signet
(axe build 2) adrenaline-driven
Eviscerate
Executioner's Strike
Cyclone Axe
Frenzy/Flurry
For Great Justice
another energy-based skill for the adrenaline to rebuild? Power Attack?
Healing Signet
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support / Rez Signet
(sword build)
Hundred Blades
Sever Artery
Gash
For Great Justice
Final Thought
Frenzy/Flurry
Healing Signet
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support / Rez Signet
The FGJ-based builds concern me a little because it only lasts 20 seconds but it has a 45second recharge rate. What happens while I wait for the remaining 25 seconds? The Warrior's Endurance build keeps me in energy and I could always go Zealous/Charr Slaying on my axe. It was *REALLY* tough coming up with anything at all I could only use skills from Prophecies/Core and EotN. Of course, I'll always have Rebel Yell active. I think any of these could be competitive in the early Charr-infested stages of Prophecies, but I'm concerned I won't stand a chance in the EotN-related Charr lands. Lastly, I'm not sure what I could squeeze on the skill bar as far as a secondary class is related. I guess there's always "Conjure xxx" if I go /E.

People use the nightfall paragon skill Enduring Harmony to make FGJ last 30 seconds instead of 20. Also you could consider getting Air of Superiority and hoping for the insta-recharge effect. It's an asuran skill at the end of the aspect divining quests in the tarnished coast.
For charr killing, I'd get sentinels insignias, they mostly seem to do fire damage. Maybe Watch yourself or Shields Up since there are groups of charr archers that can splash damage a whole party, and their nukers can suck too, and you won't have Save Yourself!.
If you want to be original, see if you can make Skull Crack work in a bar. Dazing their caster bosses can be useful, and you can use the other axe or sword skills that cause conditions to cover it.
