Fact is: Guild Wars has been dead for years now, that's all there is to it. 99% of the remaining population that participate in high-end areas are scrubs who can only run gimmicky speedway builds. Get good and work your way into that remaining 1% or hop on the bandwagon.

And also carrying the tag [KISS], any experienced player will take one look at that and reject you because [KISS] players have a notorious reputation for being new players who have no idea what they're doing and ruining most of the runs they participate in. So if you're trying to PUG that may be one of the main reasons you're having problems.
So you're saying you know 100% of the guild wars player base. And 100% of their play styles.

To Op: People still play the game. People still have fun doing things the way they want and not run strictly sc's. If your original intention is to run a sc as a warrior you'll need to find the gimmick warrior builds, if you are just looking to have some fun and get through the area's playing how you want to play with mild to little changes and learning new things about how to play the game, it is out there. The guilds just don't recruit all the time. Let alone use 50 abbreviations to make their guilds look cool in a game.

Warriors are welcome in FoWSCs and I don't mind PuGing with a single warrior in the group as long as he or she uses a viable build.
Also I have no problem PUG'ing UW with an obby warrior.

Yep.

I'm not saying there aren't people that casually run around and try a balanced team for an elite area. There's just not a huge population of players that do balance runs all the time, and are even any good at it. The thing I'm talking about is a balanceway guild that can complete areas easily and quickly, with times and failure rates on par with speed clear guilds. Balanceway is no doubt a slower way of doing things, but it doesn't take 2x the time as a speedclear. As for casual guilds that decide to try balanceway clears usually, they easily fail or it will take them 3x, 4x the time as a speedclear.

The amount of people that have the skill to run balanceway is very small, and the amount that actually want to run balanceway over speedclears is even smaller.

Ah nice to meet you Mike O'Brien.

OP: Understand that this game is what you make it. Not everyone does SC's not everyone PVP's not everyone joins the bandwagon of what PVXwhackie is. There are many other like minded that don't need a sc of doing the same thing 200x for 1 item, and instead enjoy just partying up with others to do whatever adventure lays ahead of them.

Make the game what you want. There are many others out there that do have skill and just don't care to speed clear as it is a 'game'

I can only hope that after GW2 comes out... they take this into consideration.
SFs sister skill Shroud of Distress should be nerfed. If shroud were nerfed the SF tank would suffer greatly.

I don't think it would matter, the speed clear ppl will always find a way of breaking the economy. Just let them be and ignore them.

Warriors are used in certain popular team builds like FoWSC.

Other than that, it's just about having the right attitude and making sure you come across as someone who's been around the block a few times. I have pugged a lot lately running all sorts of hilarious experimental builds that most would find embarrassing, but have gotten away with it because I have strong fundamental "GW playing ability" that means watching the radar and party layout, managing enemy aggro, watching your own health and avoiding spikes, following called targets and calling your own if need be, and so forth.

When I lead a party I never ask people to bring a particular build. I ask for "whatever you think you'll play well with" and it often works. As a proud, old warrior myself who wants to be trusted to play well, I extend the same trust to others if they seem like they've been at it for a while.

Indeed you are right...

I think there should be either:

a) a (viable) option for all professions to tank and deal damage through the use of spells.

b) removed complety from the game.. including Obi, VoS, Emo, Spell Breaker

C)A viable option to tank... but not do damage.. thus creating the need for balanced teams. or least spiky ones..

Either way would add (some)balance to game..at least in PvE.. I would like to know when and why Dev team decided Sins were the only profession that can to this. Why was this mechanic not giving to Warriors or even Derv's ? At least on those professions it makes since. One having high armor to asorb more damage, the other uses enchantment spells to protect himself.. respectively. Instead the mechanic was giving to a profession who was originally intention was to to deal spike damage(through Critical Strikes) than quickly leave before they died. It does not seem to fit them..

Some ideas:
-Lower recharge on spell Breaker
-have the ability to cast Flash Flash enchantments (or Derv only enchantments) through Vow of Silence
---These two changes would put monk and Dervish on par with Obi flesh---

-lower the damage that one can do while Shadow Form is up
-increase recharge on Shadow Form
-Remove/lower Shroud of Distress blocking rate
-Remove Shadow Form's damage limit all together but they can no longer cast Spells while SF is up (making it only slightly better than VoS, as opposed too... game breaking)
-remove the energy degen from Obi Flesh and reduce cost to 15 energy (that makes it viable for any profession to run, and coincidentally would balance most problems)

------------after thinking a while, I thought of this one as well-------------
Shadow Form:5energy 30 cool down
Elite Enchantment Spell. For 5...10...15 seconds, you cannot be the target of enemy spells, and you gain 5 damage reduction for each Assassin enchantment on you. (Ends if you use a non dagger attack skill )

Simply ending if U use ANY skill other than a dagger attack would change allot. It keeps the spirit of original intention of what shadow form was meant to be. An Elite skill that helps you survive. At the same taking out damage reduction, so while its up, U can go in spike a couple of foes (with only daggers). Lowering the duration so Shadow Form is not up 24/7..forces Sins to play smart, and choose targets wisely. Also it prevents Death Blossom Chains from becoming the new meta, cause without reduced duration it will force all other professions to take a back seat once again to GODMODE sins.

Elite areas are pugged using team builds to max efficiency, if your main isn't the primary prof, tough luck unfortunately.

Join a guild that does random-way, normal gamers that game together can beat elite areas easily with minimal effort if they know what to do.
